Is OOTP 27 worth buying?

I’m currently a little tight on funds…so, been afraid to upgrade.
However, the game is at basically $30.00 right now.
So, it’s getting tempting.
Just a quick question and please add whatever your opinion is.
Has the Stadium Builder changed/improved much?
I truly enjoy that. Just seems a little choppy at times.

Mostly, biggest question is the aforementioned…overall is the game worth downloading?

The OOTP Forum is definitely the best clique out there IMO

Short answer, yes. 27 lives up to the game's reputation. However, the season is over half completed and the game usually goes on sale when the season ends before the playoffs begin. If cash is tight I'd say yes definitely buy it, but wait a bit.

I don't know about the Stadium Builder as I've literally never used it - but that is also one of the great things about this game in that there are so many options and ways to play.

I feel this version is great and per Steam I'm at 188.4 hours of play time.I've done a series of fast sims to observe changes and have a very slow methodical save going pitch by pitch as well.

This is an improvement over last years version and quite literally the cheapest form of enterainment I have considering I also golf and spend more on one box balls than this game and if you've seen my handicap you know that those golf balls are short lived.

Brother I’m good at putt-putt. After that I would be little to no help lol.

I’ve played so, so many hours of OOTP…started back in ‘03/‘04 time frame. I have multiple versions of flash drives all over the house lol.

As someone also on a tight budget, I find playing OOTP more cost-effective than anything else I would be doing at that time. The only exception might be reading books from the library, but then there is the cost of gas. Unless buying the game means going without something vital, don't starve your kids or pets to play OOTP. I have no kids or pets, maybe I should stop playing OOTP, hmm. Nah, sorry got to go have a game to play, a lineup to fix, and a trade to make.

Per Steam:

OOTP 20: 419.6 hours
OOTP 21: 905.6 hours (Covid season)
OOTP 22: 1,153.6 hours
OOTP 23: 433 hours
OOTP 24: 254.8 hours
OOTP 25: 650.1 hours
OOTP 26: 394.2 hours
OOTP 27: 188.4 hours

That's 4,399.3 hours of OOTP over the last 8 years and I had several versions before I started using Steam - did a quick look through email and I can find every version back to OOTP 15. I would wager that outside of my marriage and forced labor (aka my actual job) OOTP has been the most constant hobby I've had in over a decade.

At $40 per version - I honestly don't remember what each game cost but just using that as a simple cost basis - that is a little over 13 hours per $1 dollar spent. OOTP might be the best value enterainment on the planet.

So ya, take a week off from smoking cigs, drinking beer, eating McDonald's etc and buy a copy.

That’s actually great advice. However, I haven’t smoked in over 5 years, never drank and only eat fast food a couple times a year.
So, that’s gonna work lol.
To kinda touch Bobfather thoughts. My daughter and animals is probably 30%-40% of my money.
But, to be fair or unfair…my daughter is 30 and Daddy can’t say no lol. I’m a big pushover man.
