No Trade Clause
Soooo.... I have a bad contract on my hands and I really need to trade it. Problem being, the guy as a No Trade Clause and over the course of the offseason that I am currently simming through, he hasn't been willing to waive it.
This is really my first time dealing with a NTC since I rarely am willing to include them in a contract for this exact reason lol.... Has anyone ever had a guy who wasn't waiving his no trade clause at first, but then at some point or another that changed and all of a sudden he was willing to be traded?? If so, did you do anything on your end to make that happen or was it just something that happened naturally...... because man, I need to get this guy out of here lol |

think I read, if you bench him, he'll start getting pissed off that he's not playing and sometimes will ask for a trade. Does he have options left, send him to the minors?

He's been playing himself into a benching, so maybe this will work itself out lol. No options left. He's a veteran, been around for a while. He was a guy who was a perennial all-star, but his decline has started to kick in a solid year or two before I expected and that means there's gonna be some bad years and bad money hitting real soon and I'm trying to get myself out of it before his declining skills and big money make him completely untradeable..... but he's not doing me any favors with this NTC haha. |

DFA him then bench him once he clears. It will upset him. Have also noticed players are more likely to list acceptable trade teams closer to trade deadline in-season.

Check the contract details see if he has a list of teams he will go to. If you are desperate you can edit it off.

Hmmm... the DFA idea is good. There's be no downside there short of making him mad (and Im okay with that). If he gets claimed that opens up the $$$ that I want opened up.
And yes, I am desperate but I'm not going to cheat over it. |
