64 minutes in...1-1 ARG-CDV.

I REALLY want to see a Cape Verde goal. Would this be the greatest upset in footy history?

Upset of the tournament about to happen. You'd hear about this one for generations.

Even if they lose, and they're tied again, it is STILL one of the greatest WC games ever.

Only two African and zero Asian teams made the Round of 16 after being given 19 of the 48 spots in the show.

I think you'll have to bribe harder and stuff the tournament even more to get the "late rounds presence" for lack of a better term that you wanted from that.

I'm sure that for a couple of billions, Infantino would be willing to exclude European (7 in the Round of 16) and South American (4) teams from the next couple of editions altogether. The three North/Central American hosts make up the balance.

That's not telling the whole story. Capo Verde took the defending champs into OT. It took until extra time for Brasil to put out Japan. Ivory Coast lost in the 86th minute to Norway. Congo DR had the lead for the majority of the match vs England. Canada scored the only goal vs S.Africa in add on time.

I think the African & Asian teams that lost in the round of 32 showed very well & gave the favorites all they could want & more. We were that close to Africa & Asia making up a quarter of the quarterfinals.

When Argentina made it 1-0, I turned it off. I checked the score later expecting to see a 3 or 4-0 ending. It was 1-1 in the 91st minute.

Argentina scored again and I didn't turn it off. Then the tying goal was a thing of beauty. I think he was the same guy that almost tied it up again right at the end. But the Argentina goalie made a great save.

I was rooting heavily for Cape Verde. If you weren't, you're probably from Argentina.

I watched the entire game. I have a couple of friends from Cabo Verde, and I am quite sure they were losing their collective minds.

Started the game pulling for Paraguay. Ending the game pulling for France. That Paraguayan squad is a bunch of thugs.

I heard him. Just like the Cavs coach said they were dominating the Knicks.

I hope this is beginning to reverse the tide of analytics-only strategy in team sports. It's making the games boring across different sports because everyone is trying to play the same way.

Dude was smoking some good leaf. I can understand if the Germany coach said that after losing to Paraguay. But Canada? At no point did I think they look like the better team.

Norway is the most boring to happen to sports since the rain delay. They just pass it around w/zero attacking. And they have the reaction speed of a tree stump.

This comment didn't age well.

Haaland is one of the very finest players in the world. Straight up.

I think I am a Norway fan, for every game except against the US (which will never happen).

Thor & the goalie were the only thing going for them. The rest of the team were a cure for insomnia.
