Please make the switch from Day to Night optional when using 2D Classic

Right now if one wants to use 2D Classic with the labels in a functioning eye appealing setup, one has to be willing to manually set the labels 2 times for each and every stadium. Total pain in the rear. It also stinks, because it's impossible to get them in the exact location, so the change from day to night still makes it feel like an earthquake has just taken place.

I'm a text sim guy and I always will be. I abhor unneeded movements when playing out a game, so the little players running around the field annoy the heck out of me. I think the fans moving may be even more annoying. I just want to play the game like an old Diamond Mind Baseball text sim. The only on field movement I need is the player and base runner labels changing as needed.

The day and night change is useless to game play, If folks enjoy seeing it change from day to night like someone just flipped a switch, allow them to do so, but please give us the ability to turn the annoying useless change off.

The change from day to night is just dumb. Was just playing a game at the Astrodome. Classic 2D, so I had arranged the labels how I liked them. Then it changed from day to night and I had to arrange them again. Just dumb. Probably dumber than introducing fog instead of rain. Ever been to a game in the Astrodome? There was no day and night. It was like going to a Vegas casino to watch a game. No clue what was going on outside.

There is a mod offering different 2D images. Below is 1923 Yankee Stadium for example.

Maybe it is more resilient to earthquakes. Reinstalling Silvam's mod will undo this mod's changes if you don't like them. The alternative is more taxing as an initial time suck. Take the -D file and save over the actual -N files with the image that is the -D file... so when the day=>night change comes, the game loads a file called -N but the image is the same that's been -D.

If you have Steam and did invest the time to do that, save it as a Steam mod (even if hidden to the public). Then every year, you upload the mod to the new version of the game, subscribe and install it and all the night 2D files are replaced with a duplicate file of the day. You only have to invest the time of the resaves per stadium once that way. The next year, it takes a 10 min to link the files to the new game's Workshop.

I'm a total coward when it comes to messing with files. If you remember, I'm the one that had to buy 25 twice due to trying the install the integreated mod.

That being said, thanks for the heads up in regards to Pstrickert's 2D mod. Installed it this morning. Wow! I love what I've seen so far. I'm a weirdo. I will always be a text sim guy. The weirdness is, I just can't stand unneeded movement on my screen when playing out games. Therefore, the 3D movement really gets on my nerves. Crazier yet, it's been the fan movement that is like nails on a chalkboard.

Got a kick out of your mention of the earthquakes......I guess this isn't the first time you've seen me complain about this.

It just seems like it would be simple for them to add a toggle that tells the game to only use the daytime picture, or only use the night time picture.

I haven’t tried it myself but have you tried setting that option to force daytime when you import a schedule?
