Bizarre

I'm finding some weird flaws in 27:

I have traded an outfielder to a team, with no return, and it looks like every
of the many trades I have made--no signs of any problem. And though I Save Game, the next day it's as if the trade never happened--he is still on my team.

Also strange: I'm replaying the Cubs 1956 season, and to my astonishment find first baseman Joe Adcock, who has never played an inning at catcher in his long career, in the starting lineup behind the plate while 11-time All-Star catcher Del Crandall and journeyman Del Rice are on the bench. (Adcock rated 10 at catcher, Crandall 12.) How does this happen? (And I am up to date with all patches.)

These two issues are contradictory, as #1 should only happen if you have historical lineups enabled, but #2 should only happen if you don't.

The AI does not do a great job choosing positions in the historical game, especially at the catcher position. Also, if you are using historical minor leagues players get ratings for positions they played in the minors. That's why I use fictional minor leagues. Now if you are using recalc I don't see how what you have is happening.

I'm seeing a lot of guys out of position in my historical replay. Lots of players on opposing teams playing guys at a position with a 1/100 rating there. My league is in 1982 and I was playing the Phillies. They had Gary Matthews playing at 1B with a 1 fielding rating (again, on the 1-100 scale) and he made 3 errors. Had Bill Madlock playing SS for the Pirates and a few others. Don't remember seeing it this extreme in past versions.
