Hello Citizens of OOTP ...

I've worked through half dozen strategies on Quick <etc>

Performance never changes from 1 WINNER and 1 2ND PLACE/DAY.

The basics are actually posted here. Call it extreme pitcher pulls.

Want pitchers pulled at first sign of trouble, both starters and relievers. My gripe is the algos are hard to read. Had R May give up 6 runs before he got his first out last week. He was then pulled, which was way too late. So I'm assuming there is a 1 out rule somewhere. The 3 batter rule is easy enough.

In regular OOTP, playing every out has distinct advantages, seeing weaknesses not seen by the algo. PT needs that micro-managing, up to a degree. At least 'Runs' outside a standard deviation band.

I have 10 Variants in place. Not my favorites ... just what I could afford. Hitting is a game of inches. I like my picks but, with many players like Pasqua, you don't know if a kiss leads to a hookup or an STD.

Life in Silver Quick

Typical morning. Face 2 teams in top 10 Tourney wins in first round. Lose one 3-0, win the next one 3-1.

I favor the conspiracy theory of a magical 'Special Sauce' added to tournament IDs, coding relative performance based on standard deviation.

The CWhit Explorer kind of confirms it. The next step is measuring why no two Bankheads or Fuentes are equal.

I wrote two best sellers for McGraw Hill about day trading, which is the king cobra of random variance. We encased it in 'Bollinger Bands', 'Keltner Channels' and 'Random Walk'.

Not trying to be an a*hole here. CWhit is brilliant as f*ck but rarely gives others the respect they deserve.

Happy to send my ID, with links, in private if asked. 26th year getting royalties from my publisher. All I am doing is applying those years of day trading strategy to OOTP PT.

Two things that are plainly different between PT and market trading:

1) day trading is a huge, open market, while PT is a closed or "club" market with limited participants (many of whom don't have a good understanding of the game) and prices that are very sticky;

2) bad trades in the market can cost you everything, while there is no particular penalty for failure in PT. Your team sucks, but you can always create another one.

A common misconception. There is almost zero catastrophic risk in day trading. You are sitting there, responding to very infrequent events. And if you are smart, you don't expose yourself to events.

As for OOTP PT, this is a play to win game for most, despite the denials. So PP poorly applied has legitimate financial costs.
