Exclamation **OOTP 27 Patch Update Beta: 27.3.68 (NEW)

NOTE: We've updated the version with a couple fixes, most notably for the pitcher pbabip issues for draftees. The new version is 27.3.68

There were a few things that didn't quite make to the patch release at the end of last week (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=370150), but that we didn't want to just keep sitting around until the next patch cycle, so we decided to issue a new version, 27.3.67. Think of it sort of like a hotfix, but just not for items that were broken in the patch.

Changelist 27.3.68
  • Fixed draft pool pbabip ratings too low
  • Trading block logic adjustments
  • PT: Adjusted pt_ballparks.txt to use clamped values like displayed in game
Changelist 27.3.67
  • Added warning prompt if simming from first day of the offseason with development lab slots still available
  • Updated some KBO financials
  • Fixed Military Service page too large
  • Fixed hanging on voting page
  • Adjusted some trade balance
  • Updated Historical DB: Opening Day, End of Season rosters, transactions

Important info for online leagues: This version is compatible with version 66.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before attempting to install the update. Please note that you may need to delete or unload previous installers of the game after download. Please be sure that after updating you see the correct version of your game.
For Steam users, this is set up as a public beta version. How to access the beta on Steam:
Quit OOTP 27 if it's running.
Open Steam client -> Library
Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 27
Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
Click on the Game Versions & Betas tab, and select "public_beta".
Close the Properties popup
It should start downloading the beta version.
Note that you can opt in or out of the public beta version using the same procedure.

Download link for Windows PC (Fastspring Webstore Version):
Main server: PC Installer
Mirror Link: PC Installer
Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:
PC Single Folder Installer

Download link for MacOS (FastSpring):
Main Server: MacOS Installer
Mirror Link: MacOS Installer

We'll give this a day or two, and then will release fully to the public before the weekend, assuming nothing goes wrong.

Thanks,
Matt + The OOTP Team

Niiiiiiiiice.

I couldn't count the number of times I've happily simmed forward multiple days before catching it.

This is where the notes upgrade I've been banging on about forever would be so handy.

1. Still seems like additional base for runners on singles and doubles is not frequent enough, especially with two out. 2. When will we be able to add picture files to change manager pic?

A minor quibble, but the first (top) line of the Team Development Ranking including "#n of nn" is getting cutoff at the top.

I have tried all the different fonts and scales at 3840x2160 with no improvement.
Thx

Looks like there is a bug that pitchers in the rookie draft pool all have a pbabip of a max of around 30-35 in the newest pitch. It's pretty save-breaking bug, so needs fixing before beginning a save. Or international pitchers end up dominating the save.

You can edit this in the settings, make the force start date one day earlier (if it says tues = make it mon)

Ya, thanks. I did that and it worked, I just thought it was worth reporting. I've seen this happen in prior versions but not ootp26 so it's new/back.

Thanks for reporting, yes, this error was not intended. We have update with a new version that should correct that for new draft pools going forward (although as the game pre-creates players for a few draft classes, it may take a few years to resolve if you already started hitting players with that bug, unfortunately).

What version was this bug introduced? I get through seasons somewhat deliberately so I think the last time I generated any draft classes was pre-27.3.66. So will they be okay?

yea i get it, its annoying that it isnt always set to force start on what ever day makes the series work IRL. I also wish in years they start in Japan or something it changes back to a normal schedule in future years. I hate sprint training ending on march 17th

As best we can tell, it would have come in with the .66 patch. So if you didn't get through a draft cycle in the time since .66 was released, hopefully it will all work out for you.

Might the generated pitchers who are in younger classes improve between now and when their class comes up for draft?

I guess this has been fixed for future draft classes, but it looks like every current prospect in my save has a perfect or near-perfect PBABIP rating. Is this going to create a generation of pitchers who are nearly unhittable once they reach the majors? Just trying to figure out whether it's worth continuing this save or if I should start over.

Matt: If we delete the players in the future draft classes, will the game create new players or will I wind up with empty draft classes in the future few years?

Is it intended for the top hitters in a save to eventually become mostly international players? I am looking at long-term test sim I did, with 100% scouting accuracy, and, by overall, only 7 of the top 33 hitters were drafted in the rookie draft.

Does this have something to do with the nerfing of rookie classes? It appears that the top hitters primarily come from IAFA's.

New Patch crashes my start.

I have yet to get into playing much this season but this evening I setup my league and checked DND and went to the Offseason and bam it crashed. I am using my 2025 MacBook Air (15 inch screen). Anyone else have this problem?
I will try again but I also lost the setup as I had yet to save it.
