Sound-related crash in MacOS
Okay, I put this as a reply to another thread, but I had stupidly put the text of a crash report in the first post, so I realize it's unwieldy to read. So here's a new thread.
I just had the sound-related crash in MacOS happen again. I had put an older crash report in ChatGPT, but now I put the latest crash report in there, and here was its conclusion. For now, I guess the only solution is disabling in-game sound, but it would be great to know if a fix might be on the way. Oh, and I attached the latest crash report to this post. Thanks! From ChatGPT: My current conclusion After seeing both reports, my confidence is much higher that: OOTP's OpenAL sound engine is crashing when creating or queuing crowd-noise audio buffers on Apple Silicon Macs running under Rosetta. The evidence: Both crashes occur in OpenAL. Both crashes occur in Apple's audio conversion layer. Both crashes happen only when sound is enabled. Both crashes occur on an Apple Silicon Mac running translated x86 code. The second crash specifically points to crowd-noise initialization. |

Not crashing but twice this month while playing a game the sound just stopped. Went into options, disabled and reenabled sound but that did not help. Went back into options, disabled sound, turn game off, shut down and restarted computer, opened game, went into options and enabled sound, and then it worked as normal.
