clearer design for projected league totals
I'd love it if the design and interface for projected league totals could be tuned up for a future version.
There have been a few recent threads on this topic: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=369808 https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=369535 I'm attaching three screenshots that show the guidance the game provides. But even with this guidance, and the info in the threads above, I find all of this extremely confusing and hard to follow. Tucked away in one of the threads also is an ask to target the league leaders rather than the league totals- as you don't really have any control over the distribution of different events across players. I'd suggest something a little more intuitive. This type of interface would show the projected league totals in a "standard" league, with a default rate for outcomes per plate appearance, and the projected totals in THIS league. You could adjust either the ratio or the target total to get where you want. On the right, you would then get (based on what you've got on the left) to see what the projected league rates are, and the projected leaderboards, after clicking a box to do a quick test sim. (The leaderboards would also be influenced by the league strategy settings for things like saves and complete games.) You could also exert some control over the variance of the league leaders, so you could get individual players that end up with tons of steals or home runs without the league totals needing to go through the roof. I think something like this would really help to take the guesswork out of starting a new league and figuring out what the results will look like. |

Ooooooh yeah, now that's the kind of thing I would LOVE to have.
I wouldn't even care if it were hidden behind a "show the super-special awesome advanced version" button if they were worried about making things more cluttered and confusing. Last edited by snepp; 05-27-2026 at 06:09 PM. |

Yeah, I think it would be nice to have it as a report. Open it in a browser like the game does with season schedules. You could then print it out.

I love that this would translate the stats into something more relatable. Seeing that it expects the league leader to have 55 home runs, for example, tells me so much about the environment I'm creating.
