Paul has inside information only insofar as he's creating the cards. As long as he has the same chance as everyone else to acquire the cards he's created, there's no conflict that I can see.

Exactly, i completely agree. Which is why I said it's good that he's not creating missions and knowing the cards that will be in them. I know about Mattgate, I was around for that, there's a reason Paul is not allowed in my discord.

I did not mean Paul, but if that is his title, I apologize to him. I meant content as in missions. I thought Paul, was just a card creator. I will update my statement to say....They need to hire a new mission creator, someone who actually create's....missions...

Paul's official role is the Content Director. But that's just creating cards and the structure they're released in. The PT team is really small, Paul and Dish are part time, Nico does tournaments and community stuff and tech support and more, and as far as I'm aware only one of the devs is prominently on PT. it's always funny when people think that PT is taking away resources from the base game when PT is already underresourced in comparison.

Well, Markus is gone. That potentially seems like a big one. I just think there are a lot of competing time constraints here that make it tough, and the resources really are low in terms of full time effort.

PT is a niche worth saving. Best alternative to mainstream fantasy baseball. Nothing else even close.

Has it ever gone this long? It's making me re-think investing time here (and I have loved this). Can't go 4 weeks. I keep thinking every day there will be a BIG new mission, is someone sick, has something happened? I also get that side of things. But if it's normal operating, these should be out every 2 weeks and no longer... to keep interest. My opinion only...

Aren't all employees playing the game?

Not sure how inside information helps since new upgrade players tend to stink despite the better ratings.

No: at least not enough. Employees are too busy working on the game to play it. Paul's the only one who plays it at a significant level, and he's only a part time employee.


The scandal involved giving insider information regarding missions to people in a private discord, as well as using that mission info to speculate on cards early. These are the things we want to avoid happening.

What he does is just fine. We should want a competitor generating cards, as long as he isn't getting the metas for free. But Paul does a good job of providing cards that are meta for different tourneys. And that's really important to most of the player base.

I think Paul playing the game at a high level is the best thing that's happened to PT in a long time. The fact that we have a player who actually plays the game with the ability to enact change is a big deal. Lots of little things that have been changes are things that came across because Paul has actually experienced them and thought they should be changed. Just hard to know a lot of the minutia if you aren't playing the game as the most embedded players are.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. We all complain about new bottleneck cards coming out with missions, so maybe some breathing room between big missions is what we need to accumulate cards that will be in the missions while they are cheaper.

Of course, they could still release bottleneck cards with the missions when they come out. That would be disappointing, but I'm sure there will probably be some.

I think it is good mission design to have some new cards come out with missions, but just as one branch of things. It's good to not have the hoarders (like me) finish everything as soon as they come out, there should be something to motivate ripping. I think people should be able to finish most of things without brand new cards though, to get more packs as well. But I've liked the general mission design this cycle when they do happen.

I hate to be THAT guy, but today's new missions are weak. None are connected to each other so no bigger rewards for completing them. No players as rewards. Just 2 standard or Silver Packs for completing. Feels slapped together quickly because people were complaining. Not worth waiting a month for but I guess it's better than no missions.

Missions are dead. Don’t know why they’ve killed them, must have their reasons. My interest in pt is almost dead now too, but I play for free so they don’t care. I don’t blame them

These missions are basically the equivalent of watching a few Twitch streams. Totally weak.
