Settings Help for Very Recent Historical Starts

I like the idea of starting a league one year ago (i.e. 2025), simming for one season, then joining a team. The purpose of this is to smooth out all the garbage that spawns with a fresh install. In past versions, I've accomplished something similar by simulating the first season (i.e. 2026), but then you lose an opportunity to draft one of the few real draft classes.

Every year, I try to figure out how to generate a league of this manner that doesn't completely bust the prospect pool. For example, I tried today, and Jesus Made, Konnor Griffin, and others of that ilk generated as 30 PV/FV. 26-year-old Anthony Siegler is the #6 prospect with a 45 FV. This isn't a TCR thing, it's something to do with how historic leagues use real performance to automagically generate ratings.

The settings just don't work for recent history. If you go back a few years, you'll notice draft classes get progressively more pathetic as you approach the current date.

Does anyone have advice for how to achieve what I'm seeking--effectively a vanilla experience that starts in 2025 while retaining passable valuations of all players/prospects and properly importing upcoming draft classes?

I'm not sure it's possible. Historical play completely falls apart when it comes to the recent past. It's been a problem for years and the devs have made it clear they don't consider it a problem.

It's super frustrating.

This is also why I don't play actual historical leagues. I want to pick a snapshot of time and play it out with the same engine as the default game. The bumpers the game puts on historical leagues are, well, I'll say it again...frustrating! ARGH!

Maybe something is happening on the back-end that I'm not understanding, but I don't see why starting in 2025 or 1999 need be any different than a 2026 start.
