Random Bash fact of the day:

Jim Rice has hit the longest home run to date in the Big Beautiful Baseball Bash, reaching 556 feet at 1924 Yankee Stadium. Quite a blast!

Two teams each from 1927 and 1972

No teams at all from the 1950s and 2010s

The 1970s easily tops all decades with 6 representatives out of the 32 teams, including 2 appearances by the Big Red Machine (1972 & 1975)

Did the 2022 Braves beat the Phillies to get in? Seems odd, in that the 2022 Phillies smoked the 2022 Braves. But I gather from the photo of Von Hayes that was an earlier Phillies team.

Absolutely an older team (it was the 1986 Phillies) Very rare in my tournament that two teams from the same year face each other.

Coming to you on Thursday night, May 21st, otherwise known as "BASH DAY". Jamie Marshall and myself will be broadcasting the Big Beautiful Baseball Bash LIVE!

We will be reviewing the Tournament Stats and Stories from the Preliminary rounds and the 32 64-team brackets just recently completed.

We will also be previewing the Final 32 team bracket to determine the winner with matchups and probable lineups/starting pitchers for the first round.

I will post the link here tomorrow.
