Massive PC slowdown while playing

So, this happened a few times before while simming super long sims but today I was playing in a game managing and my PC just slowed down to a crawl. I had to reboot and close out the game so I lost some stuff but whatever, I don't really care about that but this seems like a bit of a problem. IS anyone else seeing anything like this?

When I brought up the task manager it showed a crazy amount everything into OOTP and it took me a while to do anything. I have never once had my PC slowed like that before no matter what I am doing and never had it do this at any point with any other OOTP but for whatever reason, this is happening with 27. This PC isn't a super high end PC but runs everything I try to run perfectly but once in a while, OOTP just does this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is something we're looking into, but in the meantime you can find some discussion and some tips here that may help, including possibly playing in fullscreen, rather than windowed mode, which has helped some folks who are seeing this.

It's also worth trying to go to settings > 3d and facegen, try selecting one of the options to limit the max frames per second (toward the bottom of the screen).

It probably doesn't matter specifically what you choose here, just that you do choose one of the limited options (144 being the max) and not 'no limitation'.

Ok, thank you. I'll give that a try
