Realistic AI demotion of veteran players

Just leafing through my 1961 replay stats and I saw that one team, the Middlesboro Senators, was 23-2 in the Appalachian League, a B/C minor league. I wanted to see what was up with that team and saw what you might expect -- excellent performance -- but with a twist.

Eight of the nine position players and three members of the rotation had seen time in the major leagues already that season. That was amazing to me. If you're going to demote a player, all the way to B/C ball is excessive. Veteran players might retire in such a situation or request an outright release. I do think this should be looked at in teams that have a computer GM as mine does.
