FHM 12 - Crashing on Startup
FHM 12 crashes on start up (through Steam) when I try and load - it gets to 64% printing a message of "Finished Loading ..." and then immediately takes me back to Steam and crashes the game -
I sent an email with the ZIP file to "jeff@game54software.com" <jeff@game54software.com> - but curios if anybody else has run into anything like this and has any guidance to correct? |

Was this a freshly started game? Can you start other saves without the crash?

Hi Sebastian - No, not a freshly started game - the SIM is currently in the year 2044 and had been working fine up until this point.
I am able to load other games (Historical Challenges from scratch as well as an earlier version of the same file that is in 2042 both run without issue) |

The reason for the crash is that many files are 0 Byte, so there is nothing for me to fix (if you use some form of cloud saving that might be the reason for it). Your only chance would be to check out the rs_one and rs_two folders (rolling saves) if one of them has still a workinng version of your save. Let me know if you need assistance to find them.

I play through Steam - is there a way to get you the file with the bites so you can fix it?

Unfortunately I can´t fix 0-Byte files (they are just corrupted). As I wrote above: your best chance is to look if one of the two rolling saves (rs_one or rs_two) does still work.

Thanks Sebastian - going back to your earlier offer, can you explain where I find the RS?

If you don't know where you save is, start your game, click on settings, troubleshooting, open customizable data folder, saved_games.

Do what Adam said to find your save folder. Inside your save game folder should be two folder, rs_one and rs_two. Copy the dat files from one of them into your main folder, replacing the dat files there.
Should you have trouble you can also zip your save game folder (the .lg one), upload it and I can look for you.
