Missions Worth It?

It is worth doing the missions and locking in all the cards for these 2 star team specific missions? Just curious how long time players view the missions overall.

missions will always get cheaper over time. if you're thinking about the live missions, when the next live update happens on the first monday of may, there will be a lot of cards added to them and they will get significantly cheaper. so if you're willing to wait, you should

Currently, the live missions give the best ROI. If you finished the Live missions, you'd probably be able to compete through Gold level and get to Diamond.

The fact that missions aren't giving perfect packs yet is a little disappointing for this year's PT.

In the past

The live missions have always (since I've been playing) rewarded you with a lower-level card and a pack from that team for the first 20 and a better card and better pack for the second mission (which used to be just 26 rather than all or nearly all of the launch cards). So after the may drop you could complete the 20-missions, sell the toppers you received, and have enough to complete the full team mission (in the days when that was 26).

A few years ago they switched to the current all or nearly all for the 2nd mission, which made them harder to complete. And now you get artifact packs and ballparks, which generate no cash for you unless you pull a variant card where applying your artifact cards to the boost will make it something that someone will pay 15K or more to own. So the full mission tree will probably take casual teams until late June to complete.

I have several times suggested that, in addition to adding low-level cards to the live missions as the players appear, the historical missions should also have low-level cards added to them after a couple of months so that even casual teams can aspire to owning one or two of the top cards when they come out in December.

As the situation is now, your best strategy with a casual team is to just make sure you own all (and I do mean all) of the live cards after the end of the season, so you will at least get all the PT Elite series. Doing that will give you a small window of opportunity to get almost any team to the low Diamond level.

"The fact that missions aren't giving perfect packs yet is a little disappointing for this year's PT."

The NeL or BBREF missions that will be coming out in mid-May or thereabouts will probably be the debut of a mission tree that will yield a perfect pack. And then a tree will debut in late June or so where Historical Perfect packs will become available.

we already have perfect packs in missions from the jackie and satchel ones

The point I was making is that the higher missions (except those) give historical diamond packs right now. That's kinda meh. Great, 1 mission right now gives a historical perfect pack, and 1 gives a historical rainbow.

Last year there were plenty of Month 1-2 perfect pack missions. The mission selection right now is just abysmal.

This is factually incorrect. The first mission with a perfect pack was the Satchel Paige mission in mid april. There were no more perfect packs until the Griffey missions for Father's Day.

Please, don't make stuff up to prove your point when it's wrong lol

The first historic perfect pack from a mission last year was on June 26. We already have one historic perfect pack, and two historic rainbow packs. you're literally just lying.

Hank

You make assertions, they are shown to be factually incorrect. The civil thing to do at that point is to apologize, not to complain about your hurt feelings.

I left out that it was uncalled for, which it was.

I was going to comment on how rude this forum has become in the last few years, then decide those people won't recognize it in themselves and I would be wasting my time. You managed to draw it out of me though, so congrats

Time for me to start making liberal use of the ignore feature, or just plain stop coming here. Probably the second, since people quote the rude responses during their pissing matches.

Not everyone is rude and many of these posts are helpful. My post was just comical as I haven't noticed a blank response before. No offense meant.

Feel free to unload on your opinions so the game can improve.

We generally get one or three people a year who just can't contain themselves and think that every disagreement must turn into a pissing match. They don't last any longer here than they do in most communities.

Civility is still a thing. It's just more fragile than it used to be.
