What do you mean? There's already World Championships in custom games now. Pretty sure the Olympics as well. My league even has a Division 1 championship but can't run it until there's enough competitive countries viable to fill it. I'm fairly sure that got added in 11 or 12, since I'm a huge fan of playing custom leagues, too, and this was one thing I'd waited a long time for.

-When looking at history of your league, can we have sliders to go up and down each year, rather that it flicks through the leagues. Its a bit laborious going back to the seasons tab and then scrolling down if you are going back a bit.
-Historical, when you have two conferences can we get the playoffs standings to show them either side. Think it only comes into effect with the 99 playoff rules. -Mental ratings. They really don't improve as much as they should. Please can they start from a higher base. For exmple i have Joe Sakic as 15 in team player, leadership & determination and just 13 in professionalism, when he was 27! i'd much rater these stats start high and much harder to improve. -Please add power play and penalty killing to defaul stats.(might have mentioned that before not sure) Also pretty sure i've mentioned this before, but related to the above can we have more customisable options. I would love to set my home page as the league schedule page, and on there have the standings and the stats. And on the stats part i can select which team stats and player stas i wish to choose. So for example i'd wasnt gp ga gs, pts pp% pk% and gd difference selected, whilst someone else could choose goals per game etc etc. -can we move through the email messages with the keyobard, so that enter goes to the next message, and we can delete ones we select on masse(i/e ones we select outselves, and no the ones filtered by the drop downs). -Shortlist, can it automatically be set so that our own players are not on there. -And searching for players, please can it hold onto our choices, so don't avhe to keep setting them back up when looking at other screens |

My interest is in replaying historical NHL seasons, so I'll add my voice to those who are asking for improvements to 2D game play as a top priority. Thanks for listening.

I would LOVE to see more accurate and more realistic league and team financials! Right now, the league National TV Broadcast setting only goes up to $999,999,999, but the combined Canadian and American totals are over a combined $1 billion! Not only that, but for some reason FHM defaults to $390 million...that's only about a third of what the National TV contracts now total. Also, Canadian teams are given more than twice the slice of the pie that American teams are given from the National TV Broadcast dollars, but the information that I found online states that all teams should get an equal share. For example, if I set the National TV Broadcast dollars to the maximum of $999,999,999, each Canadian team gets $56,249,999, and each American team gets $24,999,999, and I'm not given the ability to change those percentages. Maybe a percentage setting for each team would be nice! Seattle gets a bit more, maybe because they have a special deal with the NHL because they are the most recent team to join the league? I know that I could fudge the numbers by giving each team more or less for the Local TV Broadcast dollars, but modeling it correctly to start would be the better solution! At least the local TV broadcast dollars seem to be realistic. Also, why is there no setting for me to be able to toggle Revenue Sharing on or off, and also set a Revenue Sharing percentage? The current revenue sharing percentage in the NHL is $6.055%. If FHM is going for complete realism in other areas, then it would be great to have more realistic financials so I could see if a team such as Saskatoon or Halifax could actually survive!

This is a great point! Right now I'm using Action! PC Hockey for my season replays. If FHM could bring the gameplay and statistical accuracy comparable to that product, then I wouldn't need to have both!

I am a massive Leafs fan (unfortunately) which brought me to this game after a great experience with OOTP baseball in the past. I just logged my first 100 hours or so on the game and my biggest take away is the trading logic is very easy to exploit. I have some notes that may increase the challenge of the game (although I am aware, if the game were realistic, the leafs would not have won 10 championships between 2025 and 2042 like they did in my game haha). My notes below, with hopefully, realistic and easy suggestions to implement for the next game
1) The game is aware that High draft picks are worth more ahead of the draft and teams with a status of "Rebuilding" are less likely to accept trades for picks in general. However, IMMEDIATELY after a team drafts a player (the draft can still be ongoing) you can trade for the player they selected for a much lower cost. I.E. In an backup I have in 2040 of one of my saves, Washington has just won the draft lottery - current status TOTAL REBUILD. Ahead of them making the selection I can offer them a recent 7th round pick who is .5/.5 and picks 13, 15 and 20 for pick 1 and get the message "We're not willing to move a high draft pick that cheaply" - This is fair. However, immediately after they make the pick, I can offer them a SIGNIFICANTLY worse offer (A random 3 star potential player I draft with pick 13 and pick 20 - removing one of the firsts from the original offer entirely) and getting a scout message of "They will probably accept the offer" - Suggestion - the same mechanism that applies to rebuilding teams trading draft picks (MUCH harder to acquire from then balanced or win now) should apply to players those teams have the rights of. 2) During free agency, you can sign free agents and immediately flip them to other teams for draft picks/players rather easily. You can net 5-10 first round picks by signing certain players and immediately flipping them (My findings - A 3 star Current/Potential player is usually worth AT least a first + second to a team who is in Balanced and more to a team in Win Now or Win At all Costs) - I understand that this is theoretically possible in real life, but some sort of "Reputation" factor for teams with free agents that effects their ability to want to sign with you would massively improve realism. Could be a Simple 0-100 bar like the Job Security/Fan Happiness tab and depending on your score free agents are more likely to ask for NTC/NMC protection/more money/not want to sign with you. 3) Salary Retention is not evaluated properly in trades and is effectively broken in the game. I have a save thats in 2042 now but is glitching, so I went back to 2040 to test stuff. Matt Schaefer is signed to a ~16m/year deal with Edmonton. He is 32 and there are 2 years left on the deal. The Oilers consider him an Elite Player (my scouts show him as 5/5). With 0 salary retention, they want 4 first rounders and a Top Defensemen I have that is 3.5/4 at 23 years old. If I request 50% salary retention, they are still happy to accept that trade. This is consistent for me throughout the save and as long as the team has the salary cap room to manage the retention at the time of the trade, it will accept offers regardless of retention being 0 or 50%. Some sort of weighting to trades that increases the ask based on the amount of retention (and amount of years! left on contract) would make the game more challenging 4) NMCs and NTCs - the NTC function works fine (although would be cool to negotiate 6-10-15 team NTCs rather than just the standard list we get now) but NMCs effectively operate the same way for trade protection in the game and they don't work that way in real life. If a player has an NMC, there should be a button to request them to waive it or submit a list of teams they would take a trade too (Either they waive, provide a list or deny waiving) - I don't care if this is completely random, but right now, there isn't really any reason to not give an NMC if a free agent wants one. It should be a harder decision for the user IMO 5) Not proud that I've used this one/found this one, but like I said, desperate leafs fan who was looking for any form of Trophy - After the playoffs, the trade value of players who are about to become UFA is still very, very strong. You can acquire a 3 star player on an expiring contract at the deadline for your first round pick (usually in the 24-32 range) and then flip him after the playoffs to get a similar pick back as long as you do it before July 1st. There is already a page where you can see upcoming free agents so the game is tracking that. A mechanism that decreases the trade value of upcoming free agents from after the playoffs (when the trade window opens) to the start of the new season (unless they sign a new deal) would help me from shamefully using this in the future |

Yup, the computer won't trade up for free either. I genuinely tried to give a team my 13th pick for their 14th and they said no on very very hard difficulty. The logic is a bit flawed to how they value draft picks, unsigned prospects and youngsters.

Personally i’d love if there was more scrums, and brawls, especially in major rival games, multiple penalties at the same time for more than 2 players, less penalties for random minors, like a player getting a misconduct after a tripping penalty. Would be sweet

Hello,
I would like to share a long-term gameplay and AI concept idea for future versions of Franchise Hockey Manager. I believe one of the biggest immersion opportunities for the series is improving how international hockey and national teams behave, especially outside the NHL. Right now, international tournaments often feel too “game-like” instead of behaving like real-world hockey ecosystems. One of the biggest examples is national teams taking players away from active playoffs in leagues like the Czech Extraliga, SHL, Liiga, DEL, KHL and other European leagues for low-priority tournaments such as Euro Hockey Tour events or Karlsson Hockey Games. In real life, clubs competing for championships would almost never release important players during playoffs for exhibition-level tournaments. I think FHM could benefit massively from a dynamic international priority system: - Olympics / World Cup = highest priority, players almost always attend even during the season - IIHF World Championship = conditional priority depending on playoff elimination, fatigue, injuries, contracts and motivation - Euro Hockey Tour / exhibition tournaments = low priority, clubs can refuse player release, especially during playoffs This alone would make international hockey feel much more believable and realistic. Another major immersion feature would be dynamic national team roster management. In real life, national teams constantly monitor NHL playoff eliminations and often leave roster spots open while waiting for potential late additions. In FHM, national teams rarely seem to aggressively pursue elite players becoming available during the tournament. For example: - A superstar player gets eliminated from the NHL playoffs - He already has multiple Stanley Cups and Olympic gold medals - He only needs World Championship gold to complete the Triple Gold Club In real hockey, both the player and the federation would likely have strong motivation to join the tournament, even late during the semifinals. It would be amazing if national teams could: - leave reserve roster spots open - dynamically reevaluate player availability during tournaments - actively monitor playoff eliminations - prioritize elite late additions - make emergency injury replacements - factor in fatigue, playoff runs, contracts and player motivation I also think player personality and career context could create much deeper immersion and emergent storytelling. Examples could include: - playoff fatigue affecting willingness to represent - unsigned/UFA players being more cautious about injury risk - veteran players declining smaller tournaments - younger players accepting almost every invitation - smaller hockey nations having stronger national pride and willingness to represent - coaches having different roster philosophies (young players vs veterans) One feature I especially believe would create incredible realism is a motivation system connected to Triple Gold Club achievements. For example, an aging superstar who is missing only a World Championship gold medal could still choose to join the tournament despite fatigue, minor injuries or even contract uncertainty because of the personal importance of completing the Triple Gold Club. In real life, players sometimes push through manageable injuries or risks specifically because of legacy achievements and national pride. This could create much more emotional and believable international hockey stories instead of every player automatically accepting or declining invitations based only on availability. I think systems like these would create a far more dynamic, believable and immersive international hockey ecosystem across every league in the game, not just the NHL. The goal would not simply be stronger or weaker rosters, but realistic roster drama, late additions, refusals, playoff protection, player motivation and authentic IIHF-style chaos. I understand many of these systems may be technically difficult and require long-term AI development, but I genuinely believe international hockey realism could become one of the defining strengths of the FHM series in the future. Thank you very much for your time and for continuing to support hockey management gaming. |

Trade Deadline
I'd love to see the trade deadline to be more like Football Manager's transfer window final day. Moving forward one hour by the time. Update us on rumoured deals, trade talks that are on-going, offers coming in. It would be more realistic and engaging. Right now, all we get is the warning it is the trade deadline. You either make a trade or you don't. Rarely ever see trade offers. Once you move forward, you get a list of trades that occurred. No chance to react to other teams moves. It's over. Extend the simulation of the day. Make it more interesting and realistic.
