Game Crashing Issues

When playing games manually, there are no issues in the early innings, such as up to the 6th inning. However, starting around the 7th inning, the game consistently crashes when I check a player profile and then return to the game.

This seems to be a common issue among mobile users in other Korean OOTP communities as well. My device is an iPad Pro M4, my iOS is updated to the latest version, and the app is also updated to the latest version.

Is this just a problem since the patch a few days ago? I've tried to reproduce but I'm really struggling to do so, does this only happen if you are playing in Korean, or is it also an issue when playing in English?

Yes it is, before the latest patch, I played about 50 games in-stadium but there were no issues of game crashing for me.

Is it crashing when you are checking the player page in particular, or is it crashing during a play, or something else too?

The issues I experienced happened late in the game, after the 7th inning.

The game crashed when I entered a player page, exited it, and then returned to the stadium. This happened especially when I checked player pages three or more times in a row; in those cases, the game always crashed.

The game also crashed late in the game when I made pitching changes or substituted position players.

Before the most recent patch, I had played many games manually, and the game almost never crashed, except for one time when I simulated multiple seasons at once.

After checking other threads and my iPad’s storage, I found that I currently have close to 100 GB of free space remaining.

Are you able to get the crash log from your device and send it to me in a dm?

You can download the crash log (.ips or .crash file) directly from your device by
- Open the Settings app.
- Navigate to Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
- Tap on Analytics Data.
- Find the newest log starting with the OOTP app name

Unfortunately it looks like you're on iOS 26.4.1 which is newer than the current xcode version can handle so it refuses to symbolicate it for me. But that being said I'm starting to see crash logs come in naturally which might help. Can you try one thing for me though and see if it helps? Can you disable the sound in-game and see if it still crashes?

I’m currently outside taking care of some things, so it’s difficult for me to try it again right away.

That said, I always play games with the sound turned off, including when I play OOTP. I also clearly remember that, at least when this issue occurred, I was playing with the sound off and had not turned it on.

Ah ok thanks for the info. It was a long shot, but I noticed some crash logs specific to the new version that were related to the sound buffers, which it appears got some changes between the first and second patch. Granted, it's probable we load those buffers regardless of whether the sound is on or off, but just thought I'd check just in case we were able to confirm

No problem! So far, I’ve only experienced the bug in the two situations I mentioned.

What I can say for sure is that after the first patch, I played more than enough matches that I would likely have noticed if the issue had occurred — probably around 50 or more — and I didn’t have any problems in the situation where the error is happening now.

Also very glad I was able to catch all these messages today cause as I'd mentioned in the patch thread I'm not going to have much access to the computer especially for the next couple days. And the good news is that I think I've identified the general area of code related to these crashes, so I should be able to start a hotfix build before I lose access, and then I can just publish it on my phone when it's ready

We are saying it is happening later in the game so I just started a game before I head to work. I played an inning and and went to make a defensive sub and it crashed. Restarted the game same result, tried to change pitchers after the first inning and the game crashed.

I can make all the changes I want prior to starting the game.
