How to upgrade variants this year?
I am confused. It seems the system has changed. Is the only way to upgrade them now to have an actual booster card? When I search the market, there are none up for auction and I have pulled none. Is this just the way it is now?
Thanks for any help. I tried searching for this, but could not find the answer. Sorry if someone has already asked this multiple times. |

Yes, the system has changed this year. We've gotten rid of the points system for upgrading Variants, and you are now only able to use either the Variant Booster cards, like you mentioned, or the new Hall of Fame Artifacts, to boost a Variant up one or multiple levels. With the Artifacts, there's Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Perfect-level Artifacts, and they can be acquired via Artifact Packs, which you can get either as mission rewards or in the Clubhouse Shop (I'm unaware of if there'll be other avenues to these in the future, but I personally may not rule it out just yet - I'm not sure). A Silver-level Artifact will boost a Variant by one level, a Gold-level Artifact will boost a Variant by two levels, a Diamond-level Artifact will boost a Variant by three levels, and a Perfect-level Artifact will boost a Variant by four levels. Silvers will be the most common of them, with rarity increasing by level. As for Variant Booster cards, I think those are roughly the same idea, and that the Iron cards out now will boost them by one level each. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think if there are Gold, Diamond, etc. Variant Boosters in the future (that's a Paul question that I need to re-clarify with him), they'll upgrade by multiple levels. Hopefully this helps! Unfortunately, duplicate base cards or Variant cards cannot be used to boost this year.

That makes sense. Perfect response, and thank you. Don't hate the new system, was just curious if I should be saving up duplicates etc.
Appreciate it! |

Variant Boosts
So the different artifact cards that boost 1 level.
Will boost 1 level for any level variant? So a silver boosts one level for an Iron or a Perfect. There is no difference? Just trying to make sure I understand as then you need to be very careful about what you use those cards for. |

you either open specific variant booster cards from packs, or open artifacts from artifact packs. you get artifact packs from missions or in the clubhouse. variant boosters are 1x or 2x. one level or two levels. artifacts are silver (1x), gold (2x), diamond (3x), or perfect (4x). this is as simple as the explanation can get.

Go to Main/Boost Variant Card. From the dropdown middle left, select the card you want to boost. If you don't have any Variants, or if they're all boosted to max, it will say "Unfortunately, you do not own any boostable Variant Cards." On the right side, available booster cards and artifacts* (if any) will appear for selection. Click on any available booster and hit Submit Boost at the bottom.
To find your available Variants, go to Main/Manage Cards. Click the Other dropdown and select Variant. If no other filters are excluding them, all of your Variants will appear. To make sure, you can click Filter/Clear Filter and then verify that everything says either all or none...with the exception that Other should say Variant and have Active, Reserve, and Inactive cards checked. To find any available Variant Boosters, click Card Type from the same menu and find Variant Booster, which will say x/5. If x equals zero then you don't own any. To buy some, visit the card shop and select Variant Booster from the Card Type dropdown (by default, it shows All Types). Currently, all five boosters are for sale at somewhere between one and five thousand points. * Artifacts are acquired by completing certain missions (mission rewards) or by purchase with Clubhouse Stars. They open like any other card pack, but each contains only a single Hall of Fame artifact. To view your artifacts, click Main/Variant Boosts, then click the Artifacts Gallery tab. If you don't have any, the only purchase option is through Clubhouse Stars. |
