I will say that the draft classes I have seen in the latest patch are nowhere near as loaded as what I was seeing earlier. Earlier I had classes with 25+ 5 star players but the last two classes have not had a single 5 star.

Most players released as their league's opening day was arriving had been signed before Jan 1. With many of those in Nov the previous offseason. Almost every player had been with their club for a month, with the majority 3 months or more. The opening day release cycle put a lot of players out of work. Again, looking at my "all transactions" every day of my season I am not seeing these marginal guys return in a sign/release cycle that never ends.

As I enter May the daily "all transactions" are numbering anywhere from 1 to 12ish. Most are IL moves, some are DFA, others straight up releases, with very few signings. DFA's for the most part make sense. Straight up releases are remaining free agents as signings are not off the charts. It seems the AI is no longer signing and releasing marginal players over and over.
This is phenomenal to hear. I hope it stays this way

It's not that I'm rushing through seasons, as I play relatively slowly—though not at all like Sweed—but what I've seen so far is positive.
I've also run several test simulations with good results. Is it perfect? No, but what in life is? Is it better than OOTP 26? Yes! Is it better than OOTP 27 at launch? Yes!
If it can be tweaked further, then we might start getting close to 'perfect'.
I've played OOTP since 2018 and, apart from the first version I played, I don't think I've ever started playing the latest version this early.

Awesome. I will be getting 27 a lot earlier than usual, as well

Given the way OOTP developers work and how the game tends to break in unexpected ways, I don't think waiting for patches makes sense, unless what you are truly waiting for is a lower purchase price.

For example, for the way I play, OOTP26 was significantly better at launch and at mid-cycle than by the final version.

This is not a criticism of the developers in any way. This is a complex sandbox game maintained by a small team, so even though OOTP is generally moving forward, you never know if the next patch is going to be another step forward or a step back.

I agree 26 was better earlier on than the latest patches have provided, but 26 was the first version I witnessed actually get worse after patches. It isn't normal
