2 things still noticing after .52 patch
Hi, been playing for years. Thought 26 was the best one yet. 27 looks great thus far but 2 things seem off to me still
1. starter pitch count seems inflated/stamina too high on default. pitchers not even getting tired at 90+ pitches, logan webb threw 158 game 1 . He went to exhausted but i have changed no defaults, it should be hook quick. But AI is keeping him in. I have auto calc on, pitcher stamina is .986, i did not touch any values 2. I play 2-d classic, like an espn gamecast version with player pictures. The info boxes don't seem to let me expand/collapse, move and lock like 26 did. Each new batter they reset to the default Any help appreciated |

There are a few places stamina is set (which is confusing). There's your team and individual game strategy, the pitcher stamina modifier you cited, and a drop down menu that ranges from very low to very high. One of those has to be screwy. You're sure you have relievers available, right? If all of your relievers are gassed, I suppose the game might choose to stick with a SP. |

The logan webb example was the 1st game of the season vs the yankees, 158 pitches
peralta vs skenes in the mets and pirates each threw 90 to 104 pitches I am wary to continue just based on these examples |

Obv. the Logan Webb 158 result seems like there was something off somewhere, but what about the Peralta and Skenes numbers you mentioned is concerning?

I just started a new game with default standings with the Standard roster on Build 52.
Opening Day pitches from the games mentioned: Fried: 94 Webb: 84 Skenes: 93 Peralta 93 |

neither was even tired after 100 pitches. I am running through more games, but something seems off to me. It is behaving quite different than 26 did in regards to SP stamina and AI hook, in my opinion
I am letting the AI making all the pitching calls in all the games |

Here are the settings I have in my default league. These are generally what control pitch counts for starting pitchers.
Pitcher Stamina: Low Hook for Starting Pitcher: -2 (Quick) Starting Pitcher Stamina: .986 I would look at those if you think something is off in your league. |

Have you tried flipping over to the other views? Are you essentially referring to the "Status" in 2D Classic view when saying they aren't showing tired?
I'm seeing the pitchers move down the scale in 3D view, but they still say "OK" in 2D. So, maybe it is just an issue with when that 2D view status is changing, I'm not sure when/what it usually changes to. I can't tell if it would change when a pitcher gets to the red because the pitcher is usually pulled before they get there. Last edited by Rain King; 04-04-2026 at 02:45 PM. |
