Draft Combine
How do you handle the draft combine? How many players do you follow? Do you follow the same players all five days? How do you decide who to follow?
I’ve just been following all the 80 rated non-reliever prospects, but I’m guessing that’s not ideal. |

I love the idea of having the combine, but I don't feel like it's implemented in an immersive way. I usually don't notice it's happened until it's too late. When I do participate, I don't notice anything happen (presumably my relationships with those players improves, but I'm never told about it by my scout).
After the combine, your scout should give you a summary email similar to the IFA practice emails. We improved our relations with these guys, these are the ones who exceeded my expectation, these fell short. I'm excited about X and Y. Your scout should also automatically participate in the combine without your intervention (if you forget). As for strategy, I usually follow anybody I think I might pick in the first round and a half (if I happen to have comp or early picks). It's usually about 10 players. I use it to weed out guys who are difficult or essentially will refuse to sign with me. I tend to focus on a few guys to get as much detail as possible but still knowing there is are gaps.
