Paramount Baseball League Opening

Edit March 28. Atlanta is an open team. We will transition to version 27 in July.

PBL has a rare opening. We are an established league whose inaugural season was in 2010. Currently we are mid season of 2079. If you are looking for a league with staying power that is guaranteed to see a 5 year rebuild through, this is it. Most teams are still MLB but we have gone through some evolution and expansion. We are 32 teams, 8 divisions of 4.

We embrace these cornerstones of a long standing successful league.

Consistency. Sim schedule is posted at the beginning of off season and beginning of season. 4 sims a week (MWTS) at 9:00pm Eastern like clockwork.

Dependability. Sims and league events are posted and communicated early and accurately.

Integrity. The commissioner acts as a servant to the GMs, not a dictator. He acts in the best interest of the league.

Transparency. No settings are changed or decisions made without league wide notification.

Drama free. There is zero tolerance for personal attacks or drama. We are a league of grown ups that know how to get along. It's a great group of guys and the commissioner virtually never has to step in.

Inclusion. We have a documented change process that encourages new ideas, debate and voting.

Low turnover. Over 2/3 of the league have been here for 5+ real time years. This is our first opening in 4 seasons.

Sims are 7 days except for a few extended ones to help the off season roll faster.

The main criticism of PBL that has had GMs not stick around in the past is we are not an extremely social league. Articles are encouraged and rewarded but not required. We sometimes get in some fun discussions on Slack but not daily. If you are looking for an extremely social experience this may not be the league for you. However, if you judge a league by export rates and trade activity, PBL scores highly. GMs here are engaged, just not chatty.

This is my 27th season in The PBL and if I could find another league like it I’d join that one too.

Been in this league since 2010. It’s fantastic. Wonderful commish. Lots of history. Great for new and experienced GMs.
