Japanese Players Service Time
The new signings from Japan (Okamoto, Imai, Murakami) all seem to have incorrect service times at the start of the season, ranging from 3 to 6 years when they should be 0 (unless there's a rule I'm unaware of).
Noticed when I was surprised Okamoto didn't get any votes for RoY. Thanks! |

I am pretty sure this is done so they are not arb-eligible at the end of their deals. If OOTP starts them at 0 years of service time, the game will treat them like the rest of the league, subject to 6 years of team control, even though this doesn't apply to them in real life. |

Major League service time is what determines if they are a rookie or not |

Yes this was a problem back in 2025 you would have a player opt out or end his contract and you still have him in arb, granted they would get a ton of money but you had control Last edited by Thehildabeast; 03-13-2026 at 11:40 AM. |

Both, for example Okamoto has 660 Total Major League Service Days and 6 years of Total Pro Service Years . I guess the solution is to just manually remove the Major League Service Days and keep the Total Pro Service Years for now? |

Yeah that's been my solution. This way they will show up as rookies

FWIW, Tomoyuki Sugano should probably be adjusted similarly. He signed a one-year deal w/ COL and will not be arbitration eligible after 2026.
Presumably, the same should go for Sung Mung Song (SD) and any other players to come over in recent seasons. |

As of the latest patch, Sugano has 1 year of ML service time and Song has none, which I think is correct. (These were probably correct before but not sure.) |
