Draft pool - players too old?
Anyone else seeing draft pools that are too old? It appears to me that the pools I'm getting in my little test trip through the USBL are probably a year older across the board than they should be. I'm 12 years into the save, so fully into newly generated players.
I've got a save made at my most recent reveal date and going to go back and do a little export and spreadsheet shenanigans later to calculate actual age averages and such. Last edited by snepp; 03-16-2026 at 08:47 PM. |

I've noticed this for many years now. I've tried fixing it in the settings to no avail.

If you are seeing this it would be helpful if you could upload or post a link to your saved game files (just the .dat files) in a save where this happens. We could use that to check out what combination of settings might trigger this.
Thanks!

This gets reported every year by some users. It mystifies me as I've never had the issue in my game. FWIW my game was started in OOTP 4 and imported all the way to v27. When feeders were introduced I used them to fill my draft. A few versions ago the OOTP generated draft classes started to include stats and did as good, if not a better job, of filling the pool than my feeders. At this time I discontinued my feeders and went with OOTP generated draft players. Through all of this I have had proper ages in my drafts.
I'm sorry others have this. I hope that sending in the files to Lukas will lead to a solution.

It may just be something specific to the USBL quickstart that's doing it. I haven't created a fictional from scratch yet. |

I think I may have figured out what's going on here, at least somewhat, but I'll have get a test setup to check it.
I had reduced the number of draft rounds slightly 3 years prior. Normally when I do this I leave the number of generated rounds the same, and slowly reduce it over time if needed. I hadn't noticed that the generated rounds automatically changed in relation. I think this caused a mass of players to just hang around without entering the draft. When I got to the next year's draft I was seeing some high school players with 6 years worth of stats, some college guys with 5 years of time, etc. |

Sweed.......OOTP4 to OOTP 27.....that's incredible. Esp that the league still runs smoothly through all the changes over the years.
