I was managing against the Yankees yesterday and first pitch to Volpe leading off was an inside the park HR. They are pretty cool to see and a rarity.

Agreed! But here's the problem. Very seldom do you get an inside the park homerun, I'm playing game 51 of my schedule, and I've had three already this season. Last season (OOTP26), I never had one.

If you play a historic save in the dead ball era there are more. Also, has anybody seen a player thrown out at home trying for an inside the park homerun? I haven't seen one.

I have had 5 in 138 games played out and simmed so far in a 1977 replay.
Joe Morgan Reds home
Rob Wilfong Twins at Oakland
Fernando Gonzalez Pirates home
Manny Sanguillen A's at Minnesota
Jim Sundberg Ranges home

There were 2430 games played in MLB in 2025. There were 10 inside the park homeruns for the season the best I can tell. I checked on 2 AI search engines.
