Request for feature - Share Local Media Contract
Please add an option to be able to select force share Local Media Contract money.
Or an option to Fix the value for every team like for National Media Contract. The big issue I'm seeing, which exist in real MLB too, is that small market teams simply cannot compete for the money. Having an option to force the value to be the same, thus basically shared will add some help to smaller teams and allow for a more competitive league. The difference in the league I'm currently watching between top and bottom is $200M. Thanks. PS. Same type of option for merchandising share would also be nice. 00 Anything to balance the haves and have nots. In my league the difference is $76M.. Which is also the payroll of Seattle at this time. That shows how bad the money situation is. Currently in 2038 and it just gets worse each season. |

How many posts and threads with terrible suggestions are you planning to write? Actually, forget it, I just remembered there is a "ignore user" button.
If you want everyone getting the same media revenue, just use national media. If you want everyone to spend the same, use a salary cap. It's not rocket science pal. |

OOTP has many options requested by all players over the years. These are just a few more. |

You could simply reduce the local media contract and increase the national one to compensate, to accomplish that.

That you Matt. I did not think of that obvious quick fix.

Matt. Thanks again. That suggestion worked very well. I set merchandising to zero and local media to zero. Adding both baseline values to the National value.
I don't see the change reflected in the Financial Screen for Media Revenue. It still shows a variable number, but the actual Accounting screen for team shows the same value for all. Teams now have money to spend. Hopefully salaries won't skyrocket and suck out the cash. Time for testing. I do think the Financial Screen - Media Revenue section may have a bug under the settings I'm using. I'll monitor for a while and open a bug if needed for investigation with all the changes I made. |

Keep in mind that each teams national and local media income runs under their own internal "contracts" that won't update until the contract runs out and is due for renewal. (unless running the re-assign function)
I don't know if that has anything to do with what you're seeing between the different screens though. Last edited by snepp; 03-17-2026 at 09:57 AM. |

Or you could increase revenue sharing.

I tried that, but the money comes in at the end of the season, not the beginning where it can be used. All I saw was the owner taking out a lot of money at end of season when they received money and teams that pay do so after season and the owner gets very little back.
The money was never available for actual use to sign contracts and pay the bills in season. |

It works fantastic when owner budgets are turned off. Last edited by snepp; 03-17-2026 at 01:31 PM. |
