I'll still do the small scales when I'm doing really small league. I like to make a fictional league based on the small towns in my area, and the 1-5 scale is perfect for that. Everybody knows that Jim over in Hicksville strikes out a ton of guys (5) and that he has no idea where the ball is going (2).

Well, since I asked if that was a "thing" re being predicted to finish on top and tanking -- my Phillies went from being predicted to walk away to being 10 back in August to a .733 September and made the Series, losing it but still, it kept me engaged throughout. I like that about OOTP -- can never predict, not totally. Anyway, moving forward will try out the new ratings scale. This may open up the minors for me as a means to build. And, as fate would have it, my AGM and M just retired so I can take over all the reigns (pun intended) and micromanage. Which means I might be unemployed soon.... Anyway, appreciate again the chat !

Clarifying

Ok so I'm very new to this game, not baseball. Bought it for the first time during the Winter Sale, and of course I am amazingly hooked!!!!

Anyway, I haven't learned all of the nuances as yet, and so far I am playing out every game in a pair of MLB run's.

If I'm understanding this part of the thread, and I'm really just looking to confirm my thought process, on my MLB guys that have reached potential, if their a 50, their in game behavior is going to be more in line with the stats as they play out. So expecting my 25 y/o 2nd baseman who is 45/65, to perform is more tied to the stats he manages to put out, and I won't be shocked if he is putting up a .285 avg or close to .375 OBP just because he is a 45 Now. My scouting will give me a better picture of the 25 y/o than the vet who is already a 50, right?

At some point I will get to a more SIM driven game, right now I'm just having fun watching the games play out. Thanks for everyones input it's a big help
