Unable to start any game. Game crashes at "load nations" or "load coach templates"
As the title says, my game is crashing when loading files.
The crash happens at 32% (Load nations) or 37% (Load coach templates) I've bought the game via Steam and have tried installing it in different SSD's and verifying the game files multiple times. Any help? |

Is it crashing to desktop, as in the application closes entirely?
Or does it 'hang' and appear to have crashed - this can be part of the loading process and whilst it may seem like it's stuck, it will eventually get past that if you allow (a reasonable amount of) time. Is this happening on a particular save file? If so, it would be best to upload it so that the developers can try and load it to inspect any issues, you can do so on any filesharing site, most people use Google Drive or Dropbox (or alternatively follow the instructions in the pinned post of this subforum). |

Thanks for the quick reply. The crash is relatively "fast" and crashes to desktop. It doesn't really hang, I've been patient with it.
And the crash is not happening on a particular save either. I just can't create a standard game. I only get to name my save and get the load screen which loads to 32-37%. i have never even seen what happens after it. I tried after one more reinstallation and still have the same problem. Now I was able to create a custom game at least |

Thanks for confirming. Hmm, that's a curious one - would you mind confirming what system you're on (windows/mac) and if you've changed the games default install location/have enough disk space etc on the drive it's installed to?
Something else to try, go to the main menu -> Settings -> Troubleshooting and check the box for 'Enable Debug Trace', close the game and re open and then try to create the standard game again. When it crashes it should then produce a text file with the trace information in it - you can either paste the contents here or upload the file for the devs to take a look at. |

Hi again. After a day (and another reinstallation and PC reboot) the game now seems to run fine. I really can't figure out what was causing the problem, but thank you tomkmb for your help.
And I'm running Win10 and did have plenty of free space (600 Gb+) on my drive so that should'nt be the issue. |
