Cloning Players and ID numbers

I am running an experiment, I am cloning several players and aging them down to prospect age. I am also changing their name. I am doing this to see how they develop. But my question is, with the same ID being used twice, will that mess things up? Thank you.

If recalc is off for the players and you are running the development engine only, you should be fine.

Does Recal only use the Historical ID's or does it also include Historical Minor ID's

I’d guess it uses the historical ID to read and search for MLB stats and the Minors one to look for matches against the minor league csv files.

Are you trying to see how their ratings develop, or are you trying to see how their performances vary while constantly recalcing to the same ratings every year?

If you want their ratings to develop randomly, you can simply go into the player editor for each clone and blank out their historical IDs. That will prevent them from recalcing if you keep recalc on.

If you want all of them to recalc every season, I'm not sure the engine will do that automatically from a clone. It might, but it might only recalc the first one.

It should recalc to the ID if there, not just Ruth Zero. It matches the person’s ID in the Master.csv to the stat lines in the respective csv files also tied to that same ID. Give Ruth’s ID to a random player in 1926 and when recalc comes at year end he will recalc to 1927 Ruth with that one change.

I am not using Re-Calc. I cloned active players. So I have 2 active players sharing an ID number. Will this be a problem? If so, is there a way to reassign the ID number of the clones? The clones have not yet reached the MLB, but they are currently in the minors.
