Very, very few strikeouts??

Hello all, just created a fictional world, with two major leagues starting in 1945. Each league has eight teams each. I used 1945 settings when I set everything up.

Anyways, have noticed that pitchers in both leagues are throwing very few strikeouts. Like 0-2 per game. My team is doing OK in the win-loss column (surprisingly) but I think 4 Ks is the most I have seen one of my pitchers have in a single game. Have never run across this before. Homers are also pretty sedate. After 60 games, the leader has about 4-5.

Otherwise I am pretty happy with the world I set up. I don't get into the weeds too much with modifiers and such. I'm happy if things mostly line up with the way they did in real life from year to year. But this world doesn't seem close to real-life 1945 numbers in terms of strikeouts/HRs. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Am I stuck with this for 1945, with changes only taking place in 1946 and beyond?

Thanks for any help folks can provide!

Did you auto-calc League Total Modifiers before starting the season?

If not I'd do that, though it's too late for an on going season. It can only be done before the first game of the season is played.

If you did auto-calc? I'm afraid I have no idea of what is going on or how to "fix".

Take a look at 1945. AL SO9 was 3.4 and NL was 3.2. In the AL Hal Newhouser did strikeout 212 batters to lead the league, but the next pitcher on the leaderboard only had 129. In the NL the leader Preacher Roe led the league with 148. In the NL pitchers actually walked more batters than they struck out.

1945 averaged 2.79 K's per team per game and 0.39 HR's. I'm not sure it is clear that there is anything off based on the information provided.

However, the statistical environment is controlled by your League Totals & Modifiers so we can't really help without knowing what you have there. The totals/modifiers can be edited at any point.
