OOTP uses the term AI the same as any other video game.

Exactly.

Ugh
To go along with this 18 year old that was promoted to the bigs...the signing and releases of players each game, has gone down, but it still there.

I noticed Fraley was released and then signed. He originally signed a 9.1 million dollar deal for 1 year with AZ...and was putting up a 1.7 WAR by early June. He was released by AZ and 4 days later signed with Texas.

I feel like the AI has gotten worse since the new patch

Can confirm that weird things are still going on, necessitating me to continue playing OOTP25 for the foreseeable future.

The 2025 draft featured 192 out of 586 drafted players being released before the year was even over.

Also, MLB rosters at the end of the season feature 184 players with an overall of 40 or lower, there were 319 players with an overall of 45 or higher in the two AAA leagues. 30 of these were rated 50 or higher and would be able to contribute to your average MLB team for sure.

It's a shame that these problems continue to persist in this year's version, despite it being out for over eight months.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think 26 is gonna get fixed. If someone still has the old versions of each patch on their computer, your best bet is to rollback to each version one at a time and see where things got FUBAR'd.

At least that way the single player portion of 26 could provide some value for those of us that would like a simulation of the season and to go forward without the issues introduced in every patch for quite a while.

I really hope they aren't done trying with 26, but I completely understand if they are. Feel the same way as a consumer. In my opinion, this definitely taints OOTP 27 if 26 is left in this shape and support is over.

Ya I've been playing every version since OOTP4 and I don't remember most of these issues from any past versions. I may be wrong though

I have the non-steam version. I can't get it to update. It keeps opening the old version

You may need to clear out old installers. Sometimes it will download it as setup(2) and it can be easy to accidentally select the old installer.

The other thing to make sure is that you did not install to a custom folder before, and now you try to install to a different spot. You want to make sure it installs to the same location.

It’s a shame that OOTP 26 is being left with these issues…

This guy is being played in CF, and obviously the corner OFs have much better defensive ratings and should be in CF. I'm so tired of such bad AI

Is OOTP slipping in willingness to keep the high standard ?
Have the focus on money getting the better off other things beside the true feeling of playing this game as a simulation, something we all remember as The Standard to measure quality against other manager games.
Since the sale it has been slipping a bit with every version (this more than ever). Issues left just to hang and makes me fear the hunger from the Devs is gone.
The new features have so many weird side effects and some is left unfixed in hope that next version might iron it out.
Please Devs, don't end up in a situation like some other sportmanager games, EA, 2k to mention some, that get anger for broken stuff on every release.
OOTP have been hailed with respect over the years, but I sense a slight slip that just getting worse every year.
So what's still wrong with this version you say ?? Well many small things as this thread and others can show. I'm not bringing that up in this comment. Just follow some Youtubers too and it will become clear lots of gamers are sad over the latest products, in some way or the other.
Have you at OOTP become too big ? Not the close-knit group with Markus at the center anymore ?
New stuff with every version is great, but they need to work and not derail other things when they get implemented.

Well said. I would like to see ZERO new features in next year's version and just clean up the bugs instead
