Big business does what it wants. They will get their way in the end is my guess. It is pure greed, but the tax payers don’t really have a say because nobody is really ever considering their needs.

IDK about that in this case. Bears are a family business. Leaving the Chicago market is not an option. Voters are split between rural Illinois and urban Chicago. And welfare stadiums are growing unpopular internationally, not just in America.

I think the Bears released this "Indiana" news as an attempt to leverage their current field success and gather a swell of pressure on state and local politicians. Because the Bears don't have the leverage a Dave Tepper has in Charlotte.

They will probably strike a deal. But getting a blank check like the Panthers did might not be in the future.

Illinois is very stingy about stadiums. There's a reason the Bears and Cubs each play in the oldest arenas in their league.

Puka Nacua's bro, Samson, arrested for stealing Lakers rookie Adou Thiero's SUV.

If you don't think a team worth over 3 billion dollars connected to a league that prints money isn't big business then we will definitely not agree on this.

Where did I say they aren't big business?

Calling it the "family business" means this is their main source of income. They aren't like most owners who made a fortune elsewhere & bought a franchise as their side hustle. If the Panthers disappear tomorrow, Tepper will still be running a billion dollar business. That gives him leverage to play hardball. The Halases don't have the luxury of a ton of income outside of the Bears. And leaving Chicago isn't that much of a threat. That changes the negotiating position. Illinois can say we dare you to move. Charlotte knows the Panthers leaving is w/in the realm of possibility.

Think of it this way. A lot of Cowboys fans want Dallas to start Joe Milton for the remainder of the season. Also give a lot of reps to the two rookie RBs. This is a good chance to give backups playing time outside of preseason. To see what they have on the bench. But the coach can't come out and say that.

Players want to play. And he is one more concussion away from becoming a vegetable.

EDIT: And these Seattle uniforms tonight are absolute dog poo.

They remind me of these things.

This is unknown. Player like Aikman and Steve Young also got a ton of concussions. Some serious. They seem fine. Others may not be. If he gets another concussion, as long as they manage it right, he should be fine.

Besides that, he can't just retire. He has been paid a ton of money up front. They'll want that back, and it's close to 100 million. When Andrew Luck retired, he had to give back some. Nothing near that amount. The smart thing for Tua to do is retire at 31.

They flashed some crazy stat in last night's game.

The Seahawks were 0-170 when trailing by 15 or more in the 4th.

The Rams, I forget exactly, but it was something ridiculous like 335-1.

Oddly enough, I remember the game they lost as I had money on it. It was Monday night back when I worked for New Jersey Bell, now Verizon.

I can see Illinois right this instant, just off to the north, over the river.

I have many friends that live in Illinois. One, a retired teacher, showed me an article that stated the State of Illinois has a shortfall for their Illinois state teacher retirement fund.

....of eight hundred million dollars.

Not sure that there is any appetite to give a new football stadium to a billionaire.

Was the ineligible player down field call against the Rams last night just another bad call by the refs, or was it maybe a little bit of payback for Puka Nacua saying NFL refs are the worst and going on to say they make calls just to get shown on tv during games?

I think this 2 pt conversion is where they got at the Rams and Nacua.

That Thursday Night game between the Rams and Seahawks was truly one of the greatest games I’ve ever witnessed… I was actually rooting for the Rams but how everything possible played out against them in the end made me wonder if the football gods were doing a little payback for all the favorable calls they got in a 7 point win against my Lions the previous game? Lol

It was a backward pass. A Seahawk did recover it in the endzone.

The offensive lineman did go downfield. They even showed a replay of him doing so. It was a good call.

I don't argue it was a backward pass. I have doubts that anything up there was conclusive to reverse the call. Not from those replays.

The biggest problem I have with the call is that after the ball hit the ground and before the Seattle player touched it, a whistle had already been blown.

So my question - how can you recover a fumble when the play is already blown dead?

You can hear the whistle at 6 seconds and the ball gets touched/picked up at 8 seconds in the following video.

If that's the case, it shouldn't have counted. You either play after the whistle, or you don't. Nothing after the whistle should count.
