Tournament Question

Growing up, I used play tons of tournaments using APBA or Strat o Matic, but for some reason, I've never been able to finish a tournament using OOTP. My problem is, when I play a tournament, I don't want to play it according to the day, but I want to complete each series as a whole, before moving on to the next series. For example if I set up a tournament in which winners are decided by a best of 3 series and the first series features the 84 Detroit Tigers vs the 75 Boston Red Sox, I want to fully complete that series before I move on to the next series listed on the bracket tree.

Wondering if OOTP could ever add the option to play a tournament in this fashion? I doubt it, but figured I would ask.
