Does extra rest get factored in as the season goes along?

Just as example, if I have a catcher, who I normally play every day, except when they're energy is shown as slightly tired (2 yellow horizontal lines), will they play at the same quality all year vs. having that catcher play only every 3 games and using a back up for the following game? Also, does extra rest help a player if they get into the playoffs?

Would be tough to say for sure, but anecdotally I feel like my catchers hit better when they're splitting time, even if it's not strictly a handedness platoon (but all the better if it can be that).

is that concerning pitchers there is not a rest value above 100%.

I meant for non-pitchers, but thanks for the info.

The question was for over the long haul of a season. When a player plays many games in a row, you'll see the yellow bars next to their names showing that they need some rest. I was wondering if platooning during the regular season helps towards the end of the season and specifically in the playoffs?

I don't believe there is anything like season "wear and tear" that you see in EA Sport's College Football 26, if that's what you are getting at. The only advantage, AFAIK, is anytime they are on the field there is a chance of injury. Anytime they are not there isn't (aside from rare off field injuries). Fatigued players (yellow bars) have an increased chance of injury. Again AFAIK.

Maybe someone will come along and tell us that I am wrong.

IOW, is OOTP by design giving us false information, that 100% rested is less than 100% rested. I don't think so.

I appreciate it. I tend to take out my star players later in games if its a blowout either way and if I've clinched a specific playoff spot, I "bubble wrap" certain players to make sure they don't get hurt pre-playoffs.
