Free Agent Coaches vs Coaches found in staff search

Trying to clean up the coaching file in my game, and when I delete all the free agent coaches in all the leagues, when I go to staff search and short list, there are still all these coaches there, some multiple times, but I cannot delete them from the staff search area. Where are these coaches hiding, so I can purge them, or at least have 1 copy of them in game?
