Kiff had some nerve trying to twist Ole Miss' arm to coach the rest of the year. They told you they would match any offer & you bolted anyway. He would get so many eff ewes from me.

Nobody falls up better than this nepo baby. On the other hand it’s hard to feel bad for any university. They knew the type of guy they were getting. You don’t get to play the victim card now. It’s all laughable. People rooting for him to lose. He has already won. It’s all guaranteed money.

Thing is, he has all this hype and won nothing. To his credit, he had won the games he should. But what about when it is even? Name the big upset. Name the conference titles. He's got as many trophies as I do.

Still wonder what Kiffen's buyout is if LSU decides to fire him down the road without cause? Our Governor swore that there wouldn't be any more 50 million dollar buyouts, but something tells me that was all hot air.

Week 14 thoughts........
Will the last coach left in the American conference please remember to turn off the lights?.......N.Texas' Eric Morris heads to Oklahoma St........Jon Sumrall leaves Tulane for Florida.........Alex Golesh vacates S.Florida for Auburn.........Ryan Silverfield heads south from Memphis to Arkansas.....and UAB has yet to name a permanent replacement for Trent Dilfer. Five of 14 staffs will be new in 2026. So far. Somehow, Charlotte @ 1-11 isn't in the market for somebody new.............
.......These really are the end of the times. The line of boosters ready to throw Lane Kiffin millions to run their football programs is proof mankind no longer looks at character as a prerequisite for leadership roles. Somehow, we see horse's behinds and look at them as the perfect candidate to be in charge. Political offices and boardrooms are being controlled by narcissists & they are hiring more narcs. And we wonder why the world continues to spiral out of control......... ........So if we are to believe precedent, Ole Miss' spot in the playoff should be in jeopardy since they have such a fluctuation in their coaching staffs. I mean, if a single injured QB was enough to keep an unbeaten conference champ out of the 4 team playoff, certainly a team not being run by the same people would be enough cause for concern wouldn't it?........... ........I'm guess SMU finally figured out how to lose games that will get you over the hump like a real ACC team should. Welcome to the conference, Mustangs............ ........I still don't understand how dook got into the ACC title game. I don't even think dook & their high SAT's have figured out themselves. What makes it so disgusting is they don't have a single win vs the other 4 teams they are tied with........ .......This whole situation where you don't play half the teams in your conference and no divisions is asinine. You got the dook situation.....Tx A&M didn't play one team they tied for 1st with. In fact, w/half the SEC ranked, the only conference win they had vs a ranked team was #25 Mizzo. Who is only ranked in one poll....Mizzo is also Vandy's sole win vs any ranked SEC team......Indiana avoided Ohio St, Michigan & USC on their conference slate.....Ole Miss played only 2 teams that finished ranked all year..... All this to say you look at the records & the conference & conclude "x" team must be good. Until you realize they aren't playing "A, B, or C" but beating up on "w, y, & z". Don't get me wrong, there is accomplishment in beating the ones that you should (again, see the ACC). But when we are talking "Champion", the deciding factor should not be the lucky schedule for that year............ ..........Do you think there is any chance the Heisman winner this season gets picked in the 1st 3 rounds next spring?............ .....ESPN says the Big T1e8n championship tix are going for @ least $350 in Indianapolis. Wonder if Mark Sanchez will pop into town to watch......... .....Why are 4 of the Group of 5 conferences playing their games simultaneously Friday night?......... ........What happened to Major Harris?.............. .......I wonder if dook fans Saturday would take a ticket to Charlotte for the ACC title game, or one to their basketball game @ Michigan St.?......... .......Lot of fans disappointed in UNC's season. I'm not. It was about what I expected in the 1st run. I was happy to finally see UNC able to play some D & rush the passer (though you wouldn't have known it vs NCSt Saturday). The problems on offense was due, IMO, to just a lack of talent left from all the transfers. But what was disappointing to me was all the flags this team got at the end of the year. Big plays lost. 1st downs given. Terribly frustrating. I wasn't expecting a Belichek team to have this problem. Hopefully, this spring they will address the penalties, the offense, and the fumbling.................

I don't get why people have over estimated OSU's offense. They have struggled vs good defense all season. It didn't make sense people were predicting 30+ pts for "the". I thought Indy could hang in there if they didn't give up any gift TO's. Luckeyes lone TD came on an INT. They have been carried by their D all year and it finally caught up with them.

1. Indiana
Most obvious candidate here. Beat the Ducks in Oregon & OSU for the T1e8n title. No brainer 2. Georgia Won the SEC. Victory over the one team that beat them, plus Ole Miss 3. Texas Tech Most under the radar title contender. Dominated the 12ish. Only loss came on the road w/o their starting QB on a TD in the last :30 4. Ohio State Maybe the best defense in the country. Maybe, pound for pound, the most disappointing offense. 5. Oregon Not sold on these guys. Record might get them a higher seeding than they are actually worthy of. 6. Texas A&M Being carried by their win @ Notre Dame. Could be in line for an early upset. 7. Ole Miss Look @ the schedule. Best win is @ Oklahoma. Most suspect out of the SEC teams. 8. Bama I don't think going 1-1 vs Georgia in Georgia should hurt them. Losing to FSU should. 9. Texas I don't think much of their chances. But beating Oklahoma, Vandy & TxA&M while losing by a TD to OSU has got to count for something. 10. Miami A hold my nose pick. Win vs Notre Dame. Beat FSU (that beat Bama), beat Florida (that beat Texas). If we aren't going to hold those loses against Bama & Texas, then it should count in favor to the Canes that they won those games. 11.Tulane Best from the group of 5 12. James Madison I heard they get in cause they are ranked higher than dook. Whatever. Left out Notre Dame The games vs the Aggies & Hurricanes turned into elimination games. Different result in either & the Irish are in the playoff & the loser is going bowling Oklahoma Texas & Ole Miss were their elimination games. A reverse result in either.......Win vs Bama was tough to manage around & Sooner fans would have reason to complain. But the SEC conference schedule is to erratic to evaluate. You get A&M & Ole Miss who gets a gaudy record vs a weak slate. Then OU, Bama, & Texas who play a higher class of opponent during the season. You might as well draw names from a hat & get just as credible a ranking. Vanderbilt Two games they played vs a potential playoff team weren't really close if you watched them. BYU Dominated in the 2 games vs Texas Tech 63-14. Proves they weren't at this level.

Oklahoma was #8 in the Committee's previous rankings. Did you see four teams hop over them this weekend? I didn't.
(If you are just giving your opinion rather than trying to predict the Committee's, then I would highly dispute putting JMU, who played a schedule barely harder than I* did, above the Sooners.) *-I'm not saying that sitting in my chair stroking my cat was easy, per se, but it did play to my skill set, I admit. I can't see…
a) Oklahoma getting kicked down four spots to let a pair of Group of 5 teams in OR b) Alabama, who lost to Oklahoma, moving up to take the Sooners' spot after getting literally Dawg-walked on national TV. Much less both of those, as you posit. I don't bet any longer and I don't know where you'd bet on this, but if you ignore those factors, I'd lay very long odds against that parlay. |

Do I do strictly head to head? Then it's Ole Miss, Texas, OU, Bama, Tx A&M. One loss Aggies out sound correct? Rebels w/half the offensive staff gone being ahead of the rest sound right? Do I do just record? Then its A&M, Ole Miss, OU, Bama & Texas. Do I reward the Aggies for not having to play Georgia, OU, Bama, Texas & Vandy? Ole Miss for avoiding the same group except Georgia? Again, Tide get punished for having to play Georgia twice? Texas no love for playing the toughest non conference road game in the nation? Ignore they beat the Aggies & Sooners? The problem is these conferences are too big. There isn't a sound way to judge between different seasons because the schedules aren't even. There is not enough head-to-head to separate teams, but just enough to cause confusion & controversy. I challenge anybody to sit down & try to come up with a sure fire, argument proof ranking of the 6 SEC teams that finished behind Georgia.
