Question: Retired players in tournament?
I'm not sure if this is the right spot, so please redirect me if it isn't!
I'm kicking around the idea of an Old-Timers' Game in my semi-historical sim. I think the way I'd need to do it is to make a tournament (whether one game or several), and put specific retired people onto each roster. I could experiment but figured I'd try to save myself some trouble if I could. So I guess my questions are:
Thanks! |

I think I'd let their in-game versions stay themselves and import them at the age you want them into the FA pool, put them on the Tourney team, and then delete them afterwards. The HOF clock is unaffected because it is not literally the same unique player ID the game sees for their real self.
You could start a new save in 1941 and import people like "ruthba01" but instead of using a year he played in, pick 1941 and see how he imports. Filling out teams could be just a repeat of that process until you have rosters - but I'd test it out outside your save just in case.
