Question: Historical Fantasy Draft

Hey guys, I wanted to check and see if any recent editions of OOTP would allow for a fantasy draft with the players from each era?

Here is what I would like to do. I want to select the prime version of every player from every era and put them into a new league, where a fantasy draft is conducted.

Is this doable natively in any version of OOTP, or through the use of mods?

This can be done but it is very time consuming.

The first step is doing all of the research to pick the players and year. You need a lot of players to make a league.

Second, you have to look up their player ID at baseball-reference.com (eg: Randy Johnson is johnsra05). The player ID is in the URL of the player's page.

Third, you need to make a text file to import into the game. Using the example above say you want circa 1995 Randy Johnson the line would be: johnsra05,1995

Finally, once you have all of the players imported you can schedule a fantasy draft.

The game already comes with an "All Time Greatest" quickstart. To save many hours of time I would advise using that quickstart. You can always add guys who you would have liked in the game but were not included in the quickstart.

All this said, keep in mind if everyone is an All-Star, no one is an All-Star. Put another way, they can't all be above average.

Awesome, thank you for the start to this process and the advice! It is really just a way for me and my dad to recreate memories we have of doing something similar with Earl Weaver Baseball back in the day.
