2D view speed

Have others noticed that in FHM12 the speed of game play while viewing a game in 2D mode is painfully slow, no matter what speed setting is selected? I looked back at FHM11 and this was not a problem -- play was faster when a faster setting was selected and at normal speed play was realistic.

At normal is too slow for me, fast is too fast an chaotic. They need a speed slider for it or a happy medium between normal and fast.

On an iMac with FHM12, all speed settings for 2D are impossibly slow and changing the speed setting seems to have little or no effect. There seems to be a problem here.

Could you record some of what you're seeing and send the video to us? We haven't had any other reports of that, on Mac or otherwise.

Jeff,

Thanks for getting back to me. I can make a recording, but on my iMac it's about 10 mB for just 5 sec. Can you provide instruction on how to get a file that big to you?

On further testing, I see that when playing in Full watch mode, the speed seems fine -- it changes with changes to the speed setting. But in other watch modes (e.g., Few highlights) the speed seems to be very slow no matter what speed setting is selected and the audio is badly distorted (e.g., horn that sounds when the home team scores).

Upload it to something like google drive or drop box, and just post the link.

I followed the instructions on the debug forum and uploaded the video to the fhm/misc directory. The file name is 2D_speedFHM12.mov.zip.

A bit more info: even in Full watch mode with normal speed, the audio (goal horn) is distorted.

Got it, thanks. Wow, something's very wrong there. We'll have a look at that, but I suspect the guys will want to see a trace file from you to get some basic details about your system. So, on the start screen, please go to Settings, then Troubleshooting, then click on Enable Debug Trace. Then exit and restart the game, and exit again and a text file named fhm_trace.txt should open (if it doesn't, it'll be in the \debug folder.) Please PM me the contents of that file.

(And after you've done that, turn Enable Debug Trace off and delete the file from \debug, or it'll continue opening every time you exit the game.)

Judging by the description I am seeing the same thing.
When using highlights mode, there is juddering and jumpy motion running slowly. Audio is distorted.
When running watching full game, there is no stuttering and animation runs smoothly.
I'm running on a MacBook Pro M3, that runs FHM 11 like a dream.

(I tried installing it on another MBP, an M1, and it has the same effect.)

In the new update (12.1.26) the 2D play speed and distorted (choppy) sound are still problematic -- at least on a Mac.

I'm running on a PC and the video is still choppy in Few HIghlights mode. In Full Watch mode, the video is much smoother but there is still a fraction of a second freeze whenever a shot is attempted.

12.1.26 - On Mac and still get the jumpy playback on Highlights mode, and the audio still is distorted.

Fast Spring on PC.

I have having extreme choppiness on "average highlights" and "few highlights". If I play out the games in full, choppiness is reduced and pops up on faceoffs and some scoring plays.

Really hope we don't have to put up with this until the Christmas update as it was identified well before the most recent update. Please fix it as it makes playing out games very frustrating!
