pass/shoot attribute
i've been asking this for years, regarding the pass/shoot attribute on players, especially for those on teams that I don't manage (therefore can't set tactics for the player), sometimes the player sticks to his pass/shoot, sometimes he doesn't. In Connor MacDavid's instance, he always seems to rack up a lot more assists than goals, just like Quinn Hughes.
but for other guys, such as Nathan MacKinnon or Adam Fox, is swings the other way, even though they had similar high pass/shoot attribute, where they seem to score more often than get assists anyone notice this? any fix for it? |

Well McDavid's is set on the higher side so he should get more assists than goals, MacKinnon the opposite. The lower the setting the more shooting the player should be doing. The higher the setting the more passing.

style of play and tactics i presume also affect who scores the goals, plus playing on 2d/classic. Last note i saw from jeff was they were going to take a look at it again. Really hope they can fix it, as in my saves it seems most rw's on top lines will always have the most assists, even though its usually a player like Bossy or Bure

McDavid pass/shoot 13, Mckinnon 11.
no huge difference between them I think McDavid had just better stats. He is playmaker skills on a god tier level, thats why he always had more assists Last edited by HockeyEnjoyer1980; 11-18-2025 at 12:27 PM. |

The math always mess my head up...SO the higher the number the more they shoot, the lower the number the more they pass? Is that correct?

the game manual shows this ( game concepts > player attributes) Pass/Shoot Tendency (Hidden) The player's tendency to try to improve a scoring chance by passing to a teammate, rather than shooting himself. This will have a very strong influence on his shot totals and his goal:assist ratio. So, not surprisingly, real-life goal:assist ratios and shot totals should be very good indicators of how to set this attribute. The more he shoots/scores, the lower his Pass/Shoot attribute. i've noticed that this works at first but over time the player tendency seems to switch up. For example, Panarin and Fox of NYR always seems to have higher A's than G's so I tried setting their tendency to 19. at first they seemed to be picking up a lot of A's but as time went on they seemed to score more goals than records assists. I know Jeff mentioned, for attributes, the sweet spot is 6-16, and I tried settings the tendencies to 16, but saw the same tendency for the players to have more G's than A's. my game is set to sim in classic and play games in 2d |
