Question on Reserve to Free Agency

I just started a new historical game as the Montreal Expos. I'm wondering if the game starts Free Agency around the time it started in real life, or will this be something that needs to be toggled?

A historical game starts with auto-evolution of the league as already toggled "on" so rules changes like the DH and things like team relocations and expansions all happen as they should in due time. So, as rwd59 said, you should be fine. Just wanted to point out that there is an actual toggle - you just should not have to worry about it.

Yeah, to be clear, you could start free agency earlier or postpone it, or change the terms and criteria as well. I have in past sims tinkered with the terms to see how that might change things up, at any given point. But beware if you try that of the "doctrine of unintended consequences" with players moving all over the place. LOL.
