I also see a black diamond with a question mark in the middle where a player's accent would normally go in the Master file. Not sure what that does in game, but if it does anything, perhaps we shouldn't use accents in the Master.

I do recall hearing about lots of players coming in as DHs, and the underscore thing might explain that, because if a player has no batting, fielding, or pitching stats to use to assign ratings, it will not rate the player for batting, fielding, or pitching.

There are 7 players in the entire historical database that are affected by this:
1) Francisco de la Rosa (dela_fr01) 2) Jesus de la Rosa (dela_je01) 3) Miguel (not Mike) de la Hoz (dela_mi01) 4) Tommy de la Cruz (dela_to01) 5) J.C. Hartman (hartmj_01) 6) R.C. Stevens (stever_01) 7) U L Washington (washiu_01) This is needle in a haystack territory within the DB. However, BB-Ref will be adding more each year. Barring figuring out why the .csv files have so much trouble with the innocent little underscore, we may have to break from BB-Ref on the ID thing. My suggestion would be using a "10" instead of a "01" to make sure we don't get future entanglements. So, dela_fr01 becomes delarfr10, and so on. If this is a repeatable bug, of course. Bleep BB-Ref for changing up their ID naming process mid-stream. All but seven of the little over 20,000 guys in there are done using the normal first five letters of the last name (multiple name surname or not), followed by the first two letters of the first name method. *Shakes fist at BB-Ref* |

To see if this bug still exists, import any of these seven players. They should show up with no RL career stats, rendering them completely useless. Unless the problem is at my end.

I suppose if I don't touch the group of seven, all will be well, as everybody else has come in just fine. Just delete the seven, then? Shame. Always liked Mr. Toothpick (U L). Has Mike de la Hoz been turned to Miguel yet?

If it just the 7, when you see them come in, delete them and manually import them by navigating to the unmodded odb and swap them in. That’s the only thing that comes to mind.

Yup. On 25 October 2024, I made that edit in the db.

So, apropos of the St Louis Browns issue ... I just noticed something tonite (which somehow I'd never noticed before) ... the issue goes back to other versions of OOTP.
I still use OOTP24 for a historical game that I've never bothered to import into 26 ... and out of curiosity, I checked on how the St. Louis Browns looked in that game. Same thing: for a new standard game, the Browns are messed up in the exact same way (1922 shows Ty Cobb as the AL batting champ, when it's supposed to be George Sisler). But in a historical game, like the one I've been playing, the Browns show up normal. So this is evidently a long-standing issue. |

You may have already corrected these too, but some extremely lesser knowns come in without fielding stats, or with partial fielding stats: Pat Rooney (roonepa01) played RF in a couple of games for the Montreal Expos in 1981 that are missing. John Paciorek (paciojo01) played a game in RF for the Colt .45s in 1963. Bill Leinhauser (leinhbi01) started a game in CF for the Tigers in 1912. Charlie Kalbfus (kalbfch01) played an inning in RF for the 1884 Washington Nationals of the Union Association. Gus Alberts (albergu01) played 4 games (40 innings total) at SS for the same Washington Nationals in 1884. Jerry Brooks (brookje01) played 5 innings in RF for the Dodgers in 1993, and 7 innings in RF for the Marlins in 1996. Some of these guys have fielding stats at other positions. I'm just giving you the missing ones. Tell me if I'm doing this wrong, too. Or if it's irrelevant because I'm way back in OOTP25, and these have already been corrected. |

I always love turning fielding fenceposts into guys that can at least catch the ball. They may never see the field, but at least they'll be able to catch the damn baseball if they do.
If I find anything else, I'll let you know. It's not many. The database is about as complete as is humanly possible, and the corrections will keep trickling in as time passes. |

All the historical data on my game within player profiles has disappeared. Along with all transaction logs and draft logs. How can I fix this and get them restored? Please and thank you

He has his '42 Philly stats in the db. Do you mean the Real Transaction file is missing his movement to the Phils? More context for the game type and situation would help, thx

Another minor issue: 1980 cup-of-coffee pitcher Mark Souza (souzama01 / souza-001ken) has the wrong ID (souza-001mar) attached to his facegen.
Also still hoping for a facegen for Mike Chris .

Mike Chris would be timely. He's just popped up in my latest draft pool.
