Thoughts after week 10

Warning: I've been feeling good positive about the Seahawks. Which probably means they are headed for a losing streak............

.........After week one, Packers were on everyone's short list as Super Bowl contenders. Now people are wondering if LeFleur is on the hot seat. Fickle sport, man...........

.......I think Cleveland should be playing Shedeur too, just to see what they have in him. But it is not like Gabriel has been atrocious like Sanders backers are trying to spin. Stat wise at least. I'm not watching Browns games, so maybe there is something the numbers ain't showing. But he is a rookie, so it is not as if he is going to blow everyone away. But his numbers aren't that much lower than Jaxson Dart, who everyone adores.......

........Ravens......Lamar is back....they are a game out of 1st......& have 5 divisional games remaining (2 vs Pittsburgh)....the other 3 home vs the Jets & Pats & the road vs the Packers.......

.......And don't forget about Cincy......If they upset the Steelers this week, that's a sweep & only one game behind. W/Burrow back in practice & their history of finishing stronger than when they started (last 3 are vs Zona, Miami & Cleveland), they could be in position for a late push as well........

............Intriguing the Giants are starting Jamesis this week. .............

.........Bears in 1st place.........hmm............

..........Surprised I haven't heard more criticism of the Vikes letting Arnold go & counting on JJ McCarthy................

.........Would love to see the Panthers get Tyler Murray. I think Bryce plays better when he thinks his job is in peril..............

...............It will be interesting to see how the Browns & Saints play the Titans later this year. Well, not to see the game. But see the results. Could factor into the draft order next season........

......Don't know if you guys ever look @ ESPN's Power Index, but it is always good for a laugh, a roll of the eyes or a four letter word extractor. This week, KC is number one. The KC that currently sits outside of the playoffs. Patriots are 14th. The Patriots that are tied for the best record. Bears are 20th. 1st place Bears. Ranked below such playoff bound franchises like Dallas and the Giants. The Giants fell out of the ranking's top half this week. Guess that is why Daboll was sent packing. ESPN.com tries to explain the stupid thing, but you can look at the results & realize it is what result when a software program has Alzheimer's..........

........Interesting stat I saw this Sunday that made me think I might be sleeping on a HOF. Five players have reached over 40 TD's before turning 24: Barry Sanders, Randy Moss, Emmitt Smith, Jim Brown.......and Jahmyr Gibbs. That is some list to be exclusively on...........

I'm surprised Montgomery Burns isn't an NFL owner. NFL files grievance to end the NFLPA's annual "report card".

A few things.....

I don't know who thought the Packers were super bowl bound, but they overestimated their QB. He's inconsistent at best. They're not going to the SB for the same reason that will sink the Colts, their QB. Their team isn't good enough to make up for the quarterback's flaws.

What's with Justine Fields? What happened to him? He has QB ratings worse than if he spiked the ball on every play. Yet the coach insists on continuing to play him when it's obvious he doesn't trust him. My conclusion, Fields has pics.

I seen an interesting statistic. The team that forced the least amount of turnovers in a season was the Saints in 2018 with 7. Jets currently have 1 if I'm not mistaken.

Everybody was calling for Winston to start this week. Wilson is who we thought he was, garbage.

Kenny Easley dead @ 66. One of the best safeties in the 80's. As much of a legend Ronnie Lott was, Easley was right there w/him. He was in Hawaii every year after the SB. When I was a Seahawk fan before the Panthers came to be, he was one of my favorites along w/Steve Largent & Curt Warner.

R.I.P. Easley was a beast. An interception waiting to happen. He didn't get the national notoriety like Lott did because the Seahawks weren't winning championships. But he played the position as good as anyone I've ever seen play.

Is that the final Europe game? I managed to forget to watch them all.

I mean, I caught High and Low (Kurosawa does Ed McBain!) on TCM instead, and I've been wanting to see that for a while, so I don't mind…but it's a bit embarrassing that I forgot EVERY SINGLE WEEK, I admit.

Carolina: nearly had to put in Andy Dalton, but Bryce recovered in time to stop that.
Atlanta: had to put in Kirk Cousins, Penix is still on the sidelines

Advantage, Cats. But the Birds are still up 21-19 in the 4th, because of ^

1st time since 2006-07 the Panthers have won back to back in ATL

They would be in 1st if they packed their brains in their helmets last week.

This coaching staff has a lot of room to grow

I will have to look for that. I'm just pumped that Ed McBain was mentioned on the forums today.

So OT it's across the Pacific: the other Japanese McBain adaptation, Kon Ichikawa's Lonely Heart was on YouTube a few months back. I'm still looking for Without Apparent Motive, the French version of Ten Plus One, though. Jean-Louis Trintigant as Carella, could be good. [/Intercontinental OT]

And yes, Canales could use some clock-management tips. It would also be nice if they gave Bryce some plays to check down to when he spots a blitz coming, rather than Bryce just putting on his "Oh, ****!" face and bracing for impact.

Bryce's 448 passing yards were a franchise record. Did not have that on my Bingo™ card, I admit.

Lovely catch and run by Tommy Tremble to set up the winning FG, spoiled only Jason Benetti saying the Cats were "all about that Tremble". Benetti, I generally love you, but having to put up with the actual Meghan Trainor in those State Farm™ads is bad enough…I don't need more shout-outs, honestly

You think that was worse than saying the Falcons "love the Drake" after a London catch?

Romeo "Butterfingers" Doubs had 4 drops today. I believe the team as a whole had 6, maybe 7. Love wouldn't be half bad if his receivers could actually catch.

Here's a stat I read that I have no way of verifying. McCarthy is 0-16 on 3rd & 3 or less to go. That is eye-popping.

I don't think much of Sam Darnold. I think he is very "meh". Sometimes he's got it rolling. Sometimes he's getting rolled. But even "meh" is rare among QB's these days. It's not hard to imagine a better QB than Darnold (especially this Sunday). But when you sit down & look at things logically, you realize finding a QB better than him that you can attain is way harder than you think. Nearly impossible. There are a lot of teams out there wishing they had "meh".

And the Vikes made themselves into one of them.

I'm not saying JJ can't improve. But I am saying he wasn't ready. And I have no idea why Minny thought he was ready. They have one of this generation's most dangerous receivers & rendered him impotent cause no defense is afraid he will get the ball now.

Management & fans better realize that "meh" is not the worst situation you can be in behind center. Granted, you will have to pay too much for it. But a downgrade from there means you are really playing to accomplish nothing. Mere 10 loss seasons is too much to ask for in that situation. You will always be looking @ who the opponents have carrying the clipboard imagining that he is somehow better than what you have. You will always be looking @ mock drafts trying to figure out who you can get to replace less than "meh". And believe me, when you look at college football today, you are going to see a lot of, at best, future "meh". There aren't any 1983 drafts on the horizon.

So you better not hope for better if you let "meh" leave. You better know you have better. If you are a playoff team w/"meh" as your QB, spend resources to make him look better. Don't waste time trying to plug in a new toy. You will waste all that talent you have already acquired. You will always be in a standstill as an organization until you find someone average to put in place. You can never address other areas because QB will remain your top off-season priority.

You don't have to like "meh". But you sure better appreciate it.

Sanders can't really complain that he wasn't given a fair shake now.
