Ian Kinsler Arizona Diamondbacks uniform
He was twice drafted by Arizona in 2000 and 2001 but didn't sign.

Leonard Swormstedt 1901
Cincinnati Commercial Tribune, October 13, 1901
Swormstedt debuted with the Reds on September 29th, 1901. The image may have been taken when he was with Minneapolis earlier that year. |

Jackie Gallagher 1923
Here's not one, but two improvements for Gallagher. The first was featured in the 7/18/1982 edition of the Providence Journal and showed Gallagher in the late 20's playing local ball in Rhode Island. The second image shows him just before his call-up to the majors in 1923.

Brode Shovlin
While searching Brode Shovlin and found this in "Find a Grave": Major League baseball player in 1911-1920. Second baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Browns.

Not a WASHINGTON Senator, I'm fairly certain.
This image is part of a series of photo postcards being offered by eBay seller Larry Fritsch Cards. On the other side, the name "Jim Ponner" is written, but nobody named Ponner has ever played OB. I suspect that is the name of the photographer. Another similar card offered in the set has the name "Mike Miller" on the reverse, but as the image contains the names of several upstate NY locations on a fence (Owasco, Franklin, Finger Lakes, Cayuga), I suspect that these players played for the Geneva Senators, Washington's farm in the NY-Penn league during the final pre-Texas years of the franchise. Here is a team photo of the 1970 Gen Sens, featuring Bill Madlock and his roommate in a sea of white dudes: Last edited by Amazin69; 11-26-2025 at 06:47 PM. |
