Scoring seems way too top heavy in 2D engine?

McDavid has two 100 goal seasons in the past 5 seasons, as well as 2 more 70+ goal seasons. I know he's the best player in the world, but even Gretzky/Mario couldn't do that..

As well as both Celibrini and McDavid both having 80+ goals.. almost 4 players with 70. When we rarely see even one player with 60 in today's game.

The last 5 seasons into a new save, first pic is most recent season, last one is the first season.

Most of these players end up with way more goals than assists. Celebrini for example had only 33 assists in his 84 goal season and 36 in his 76 goal season. I know that goal scoring was tweaked in the 2D engine for FHM 12. But this seems a little too much in the goals direction.

Goals per game hovered around 6.0 to 6.3 during these seasons barring the last one when it jumped up to 6.63. So generally that's normal/as expected.

This just doesn't reflect how many of the players in these screenshots, especially McDavid, get their points/have their points divided. Even McDavid in his 64 goal season had 89 assists.

I never really saw this happen in FHM 9/10/11, usually the assists would also be there and the goals not be as astronomical. But maybe this is just something with this specific save I've started. I'll start a couple more saves and see if I get similar results.

Looks like it's the excessive goals from centres happening again, I started seeing this late in 11 and thought we had it fixed with a change this summer, but apparently not. I'll take another run at it.

Noticed this too. Just had a season where McDavid put up 92 goals. Strome also turned into a goal machine on my Capitals, and Crosby had 45+ goal seasons until he retired. Glad to see this is being worked on!

I think player role has a lot to do with c's scoring too much in historical, i think playmaker actually makes c score more goals, whilst sniper, or screener gives them more assists

McDavid's player role was mostly Gretzky's Office for those 5 seasons. But I've seen him as Setup Man and Playmaker too. So all playmaker roles but scoring at a crazy rate.

And in the new save I started he's still scoring way more goals than assists. I even tried turning his pass/shoot bias to 20 and he's still having more goals than assists. There's 10-12 game stretches where he will have zero or one assist and nine goals.

This happens to many other players as well, usually all the top goal scorers will have way more goals than assists. Which reflects real life for most of the yearly top goal scorers, but usually it's more equal with goals/assists.

I've also noticed that the top 10 in assists has very little or zero playmakers in most years. They are mostly all Dangers/Speedy Forwards, Perimeter Shooters/Snipers, Power Forwards/Screeners, Quarterbacks, Two-Way Defensemen and Counterattacking Forwards.

I just ran some test games in 1994, and i had the scoring balance seem right.
Had Bure on a line with gretzky, and 5 times in a row on 2d, bure got past 70, and gretzky was between 40 and 50 gls and 90+ assists. It seems to kick in after a few years that c's score more goals perhaps? Will see what happens in my 80's save when i get to 94 with those two

every version I've played going back to fhm8, centers scored more G than A in 2d mode, the stats are more accurate when using classic

I've now juist siwtched my lines, c plays rw and rw plays c, Now getting such better stats. the face off loss isn't too bad, and scoring levels are about the same as before. Just so much nicer seeing Oates with 90 assists instead of 60
