Help with User-Created News Articles — Player Images & Hyperlinks

I’ve been creating some custom news articles for my OOTP universe and ran into a couple of issues I’m hoping someone can help clarify:

When I create a user-written news story, I can’t seem to choose which player’s picture shows up with the article. Is there a way to manually select or assign the image that appears for the story?

When I add hyperlinks to players in the article (using <player_name> tags), the linked stories don’t show up in the “News Involving Player” section on those players’ profile pages. Am I missing a step to make the article actually register as connected to those players?
