Player not accruing service time in 2026

So, I recently started up a new live start. I expanded the league for 2026 and am taking over one of the new teams. I signed a guy out of the KBO, Do-young Kim, and he's been great. One problem - he has not accrued any service time (for reference, the season for 2026 began March 28 and it is, as of typing this, May 1). I thought restarting the game may fix it but no dice. He's the only player on my squad this issue seems to be happening with.

Is this something the recent beta patch may fix? Or is there something I'm missing? Thanks!

Update: I thought perhaps the new patch might help, but I guess not. Still no change in service time. Very odd. Checked other players that signed out of the KBO, both from postings and just regular free agency, and none have this issue.

I would suggest to upload your files (https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...p-developments)

Was he added to the roster in an unusual way, somehow? Odds are there may be something incorrectly set internally for him, you could try to move him temporarily to the minors and back, for example, and that may be enough to reset his status.

I mean, he was posted by the KBO and we paid a normal contract for him. Let me try the minor league move and see if that works. Thanks for the response, Matt! Attached an image of his contract history for reference.

I am uploading the file to the server. Titled "PostWs Save". The minor league trick didn't work. Thanks for the help though!

It looks like it's a weird corner case in when we reset the current year's service time. It seems like when he signed with you, some of the service data was updated, but the "current year" calculation wasn't. Once he gets past the 172 day "season" we stop adding to their overall service time calculation, hence why it's not updating.

We can investigate how to avoid this in the future. You can simply edit him after the season to give him his year of service if you want to keep that updated properly.

Gotcha! That's weird. I wonder if me messing with the KBO's posting and free agency rules played a part in that????

Does this mean that, once the season is over, and the next season begins, it should reset and *in theory* he will begin collecting service time as normal?

Yes it should be fine next year.

It's hard to say where it messed up, but basically we reset some of those counters in January when the league rolls over to the preseason. If the KBO preseason was scheduled to start after MLB, then you could have a weird setup depending on when the signing was official in between those dates.

Gotcha! It's curious haha. Well, hopefully this is just a blip! May try and just avoid signing posted players for a bit just in case lol. Thanks for all the help, Matt! Cheers!

Do you have PPI active?
Was this player eligible?
Did you receive a draft pick?

I did once I had set the service time to 1 year after the last game of the season.

Mind if I ask how it showed up in the game?
Sandwich pick?

I would imagine if you manually produced this by adjusting service time, the game would not alert you to actually "getting" the pick through a message after the player won the award, but curious how it shows in the game.

Have a post elsewhere about two "eligible" players (AL/NL) winning ROTY and yet no PPI picks to be found.

Just curious to find out more IF you have it producing the pick.

No, I got both the email saying I received a PPI pick and got the pick the following season. I did it on the very last day of the season before playoffs started. Can't speak to the issue you're describing though. The pick was a first round supplemental pick IIRC. I didn't have any picks from QOs or anything else.
