What causes this? Tactics help

I'm playing a standard game with the Flyers. Second season in. I noticed that my takeaway and giveaway numbers are huge compared to every other team. What causes this, and is there any tactics that can cut down on the giveaways? This isn't a new quirk, I noticed it happened pretty much every season with FHM 10 too, so I'm guessing it must be something that I'm doing!

It's nothing you're doing specifically, I had the same issue in 11, apparently it still isn't fixed. Under File, Setup/Options, you'll need to set the simulating mode to Own League 2D/Rest Classic instead of Own Team Games 2D/Rest Classic and that will fix it.

Crazy this is still an issue in the game. If it can't be corrected due to contrasting game engines, the default setting needs to be changed.
