Start season on opening night

Is there a way to start an NHL season on opening night instead of in August? The goal is to avoid all the AI trades that occur during the late summer and to have the real rosters as of opening night.

You could turn trades off until the beginning of the season and then turn them back on.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the only option for trading that I've seen is in the Set-up/Options screen and that is for trading difficulty, which I assume affects how difficult it is for a human to make a trade with AI. I've seen no option for turning off trades entirely.

You can set trading frequency to 0, but this doesn't seem to entirely prevent trades. Although with a newly started NHL game the program went through the preseason making no trades with this setting, I was surprised to see on opening day that Vancouver traded star Elias Petterson to Detroit for 2 draft picks.

So it looks like there is no method for entirely blocking trades from happening.
